Supply Chain Security13
- No malware scan is available for this kind of package: the supply-chain vendors we use do not cover it. This is a permanent gap in our coverage, not a finding about the package.Unverified
- Known CVEs could not be checked: we found no dependency list to check in this bundle: either it runs a compiled binary, whose bundled manifests we do not read, or none of the package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml or uv.lock files it ships for its runtime declares a dependency we can read (a requirements.txt that only points at a setup.py project, a local path, or a nested requirements file we cannot follow counts as none).Unverified
- No install/post-install scripts declared.Pass

account_info Accounts, limits and connection status ~228
Shows whether the connector is connected and, if so, the hosting account: username, domains, package limits (disk, databases, subdomains, inodes, memory), feature flags (ssh, cron, ...), the server IP for DNS, and when the login key expires. With several accounts connected it first lists them all with their domains; pass `account` to see one in full. Also shows connector_version and says when a newer connector exists. With wait_seconds it waits for a sign-in that is in progress and returns the moment it is done. Read this before deploying; never assume limits.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | One connected account, by username (or username@panel), to see it in full. Without it, several accounts are listed briefly. |
| wait_seconds | integer | – | While the user is signing in (after connect), wait up to this many seconds (at most 55) and return as soon as they have finished. Use 45, and repeat while sign_in.status is still_waiting: the user mu… |

check_url Request a URL of the account's own site ~187
Requests a URL on one of the account's domains, or on osotir.org, dsamoodle.de, t-support.gr or zebs.ch, and returns status, content type, redirect target and the first part of the body. Use it to verify a deploy (home page, a deeper page, a CSS file). Before DNS points to this server, pass resolve_ip = server_ip from account_info; the certificate is then not checked (and the result says so).
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |
| method | string | – | GET (default) or HEAD. |
| resolve_ip | string | – | Connect to this IP instead of using DNS. |
| url | string | yes | Full URL, e.g. https://example.gr/ |
No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
chmod Change permissions ~109
Changes permissions. Pass an octal string ("0644" files, "0755" folders, "0600" private). Extracted files already have the right modes; never use 777.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |
| mode | string | yes | Octal permissions, e.g. "0644". |
| paths | array | yes | Paths. |

connect Connect a hosting account (user signs in once) ~448
Starts the one-time sign-in. It opens a page on the USER'S OWN COMPUTER where they type their hosting panel address (DirectAdmin or Plesk, from the welcome e-mail), username and password; the password never reaches you or the chat. The connector swaps it for a restricted login key and forgets the password. After calling this, tell the user to complete the page in their browser. Do NOT ask them to tell you when they are done, and do not end your turn: call account_info with wait_seconds=45 (repeat while it says still_waiting, up to 15 minutes in all), which returns the moment they have signed in; then carry on with the task. (With an older connector that does not know wait_seconds, call account_info every 5 to 10 seconds instead.) A customer can have several hosting accounts: to ADD another one, call connect with force:true (every connected account stays connected). NEVER ask the user for a password, key or token in the chat, and NEVER open, fetch, read or fill in the sign-in page yourself (no browser or fetch tool): only the user types there. After several wrong passwords in a row sign-in is paused (5 minutes, then twice as long each time): if connect says so, tell the user how long and do not call it again before then.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Only to sign in again to one account whose key expired: its username (or username@panel). The page then shows that account's details. |
| force | boolean | – | Start again even if an account is already connected: to ADD another hosting account, to renew a key, or although a sign-in page is still open (only when the user says it is gone). |
| show_url | boolean | – | Only if the user says that no page appeared: also return the page address so they can open it by hand. Never use it to open the page yourself. |
| wait_seconds | integer | – | Also wait up to this many seconds (at most 55) for the user to finish signing in, and return as soon as they have. Usually easier: call account_info with wait_seconds afterwards. |

db_create Create a database and user ~237
Creates a MySQL/MariaDB database and a user of the same name (<username>_<suffix>) with a strong random password, utf8mb4, reachable from localhost only. The password is stored ONLY in this computer's protected storage and is never shown: put it into the app's config with write_file using the placeholder {{KW_DB_PASSWORD:<database>}}. The app connects to host "localhost". On a Plesk account the database can also be PostgreSQL (type "postgresql", port 5432, if the hosting plan has it).
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |

No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
db_export Export a database to a file on this computer ~248
Exports a database as SQL to a gzip-compressed file on THIS computer (default folder: <connector settings>/exports; pass folder to choose another) and returns its path. Any size: the dump is streamed to disk, never held in memory, and it is not stored on the server (so it does not use the account's disk quota). The result says complete:true only when the dump ends with its closing line; if complete is false, do not rely on the file. Do this before risky changes, or to move a database to another hosting (db_import takes the .sql.gz as it is). A large database takes a while: the progress messages show how far it is.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |

| folder | string | – | Absolute path of a folder on this computer to put the file in (created if missing). Default: the connector's own exports folder. |
No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
db_import Import an SQL dump from this computer ~283
Imports a .sql or .sql.gz file from the user's computer into a database of the account. Any size: the file is streamed from disk, never held in memory (a .gz is first checked to be complete). Before importing: remove CREATE DATABASE / USE lines and DEFINER clauses. With clean:true the database is emptied first, which destroys its current data: only after the user agreed, with confirm_clean:true; the connector then saves a complete export of the current data on this computer (the result says where) and empties the database only if that export ended properly. A large dump takes a while: the progress messages show the upload; after the last byte the server still needs time to load it, so wait for the result and do not start a second import.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |

| file | string | yes | Absolute path of the dump on this computer. |
No output schema declared.

| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |
| domain | string | – | Plesk accounts only: the subscription, when the login has several. |
No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
delete Delete files or folders ~170
Deletes files or folders (with everything inside). Refuses domain folders, the web root itself and the web root .htaccess. Use trash:true (default) so it can be restored from the File Manager trash. An older DirectAdmin (account_info shows connection.file_api "legacy") has no trash: there a deletion is final, and the tool asks for trash:false to make sure that is meant. Only delete what you created or what the user explicitly agreed to delete.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |
| paths | array | yes | Paths to delete. |
| trash | boolean | – | Move to the File Manager trash instead of deleting for good (default true). |
No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
deploy Deploy a local folder to a domain ~536
Deploys a folder from THIS computer (the build output, e.g. dist/ or public/) to the domain: packs it with correct file names, makes a backup of the current site, uploads, unpacks, keeps the kapaweb firewall block in .htaccess, removes files that an earlier deploy shipped but this one does not, and verifies. Secrets (.env, keys, credential files) and .git/node_modules are never uploaded, and database dumps only when you list them in force_include. Use dry_run first on an existing site. Afterwards verify with check_url and logs. Mode "replace" clears the web root first and needs the user's agreement.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |

| confirm_replace | boolean | – | Required for mode "replace", after the user agreed. |
| domain | string | yes | Target domain or subdomain. |
| dry_run | boolean | – | Only report what would happen. |
| exclude | array | – | Extra patterns not to upload, e.g. "*.map" or "docs/**". |
| force_include | array | – | Patterns to upload although they are excluded by default (e.g. "*.sqlite"). Secrets can never be forced. |
| keep | array | – | With mode "replace": paths that must survive (e.g. "wp-content/uploads"). .htaccess, .well-known and cgi-bin always survive. |
| mode | string | – | "update" (default: overlay and remove stale files from the previous connector deploy) or "replace" (clear the web root first). |
| source_dir | string | yes | Absolute path of the build output folder on the user's computer (for example /home/me/site/dist or C:\Users\me\site\dist). Never a parent or home folder. |
| subfolder | string | – | Optional folder inside the web root, e.g. "blog". |
| target_path | string | – | Plesk accounts only: deploy to this folder of the subscription instead of the domain's web root, for example /private/app for a Node.js app whose files must not be public (the web root is then left a… |

| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| account | string | – | Which connected hosting account this is for: its username (or username@panel). Only needed when more than one account is connected; account_info lists them. |

files_list List a folder (Plesk) ~356
Lists a folder of the Plesk subscription: name, type, size, permissions, modified. Paths are absolute inside the subscription: /httpdocs is the web root, /private is for private files, /logs holds the logs. A big folder is never cut off silently: the answer says how many entries match (matched) and where the next page starts (next_offset): call again with offset=<next_offset>, up to 5000 entries per call. To find things instead of paging: name_contains, type (file, dir, link), sort (name, size_desc, modified_desc, modified_asc). summary=true lists nothing and answers "what is in here?": counts, total size, the biggest extensions and files, newest and oldest. Plesk accounts only.

| path | string | – | Folder path, for example /httpdocs. Default /. |
| sort | string | – | Order (default name). |
| summary | boolean | – | true: counts, total size, extensions, biggest and newest instead of the entries (default false). |

files_write Write a small file (Plesk) ~284
Creates or overwrites a small file (parent folders are created). Text by default (up to 1 MB): placeholders are filled in by the connector so secrets never pass through the chat: {{KW_DB_PASSWORD:<database>}} inserts the password of a database created with db_create; {{KW_SECRET:<name>}} a secret stored with secret_set; {{KW_RANDOM:<length>}} a fresh random string. Secrets are refused inside a web root (/httpdocs...): put such files in /private/. For one binary file set encoding to "base64" (up to 10 MB decoded). For a whole release use deploy; for a big file files_upload. Plesk accounts only.

list_files List a folder ~310
Lists files and folders. Paths are relative to the account home (for example /domains/example.gr/public_html). Only /domains, /tmp and /public_html are available. A big folder is never cut off silently: the answer says how many entries match (matched) and where the next page starts (next_offset): call again with offset=<next_offset>, up to 5000 entries per call. To find things instead of paging: name_contains (part of the name), type (file, dir, link), sort (name, size_desc, modified_desc, modified_asc). summary=true lists nothing and answers "what is in here?": counts, total size, the biggest extensions and files, newest and oldest.

logs Read the error log or access log ~203
Returns the last lines of the domain's Apache error log (type "error", where PHP warnings and fatals appear as "AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: ...'") or access log (type "log"). display_errors is off on live sites, so a blank page or HTTP 500 is explained here. Plesk accounts also have type "node": the output and crashes of the Node.js application. Secrets are redacted.

How do I install the kapaweb deploy MCP server?
kapaweb deploy ships as an MCPB bundle, a single file you download and open in an MCP host that supports MCPB bundles, such as Claude Desktop. The host reads the launch command from the bundle's own manifest, so there is no command to copy. Before opening it, check the file's SHA-256 matches the one the MCP registry declares for it, ae27edc21d3a5c404b6d0f5888fe45c0df2b55fe38230ace5079a2c7c783b50a; the commands to do that are on this page. If it does not match, do not open it.

What is the kapaweb deploy MCP server?
kapaweb deploy is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.kapaweb/kapaweb-deploy. Deploy websites, PHP apps and WordPress to kapaweb hosting (DirectAdmin, Plesk preview) from Claude. This page covers its MCPB bundle (https://github.com/kapaweb/kapaweb-deploy/releases/download/v0.8.1/kapaweb-connector.mcpb).
Is the kapaweb deploy MCP server safe to use?
kapaweb deploy scores 51 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. It declares no install or post-install scripts. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.
What tools does the kapaweb deploy MCP server expose?
kapaweb deploy exposes 60 tools: playbook, connect, disconnect, account_info, usage, and 55 more. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 10,044 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.
What licence is the kapaweb deploy MCP server under?
kapaweb deploy declares the UNLICENSED licence, which is not on the OSI-approved list. Read the terms before using it at work, and note this covers the source only, not the cost of any service it calls.
