Schema Quality & AI Usability73
  • AI-judged instruction clarity (good).Pass
  • Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 448 tokens (~149/item across 3 items; 3 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params. See how to fix → Fail

  • 0% of tool parameters carry a description.Fail
Tool Safety100
  • No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.Pass
  • We read all 3 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.Pass
  • An AI judge read all 3 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.Pass

MCP tools · 3 exposed · ~448 tokens

The tools this component advertises to a client, with an estimated token cost for each. Expand a tool to see its parameters and schema. The per-tool counts are indicative and are not scored directly; the schema's total context footprint is one signal in Schema Quality & AI Usability. A tool's description is untrusted text the model reads on every call, which is what makes this list a security surface and not just an inventory: how tool poisoning works →

Tool Tokens
compress_file ~235

Compress a file and return the result as base64. Pass fileBase64 + fileName. Choose EITHER a preset 'level' (light|balanced|maximum, default balanced) OR a 'custom' profile { imageQuality: 1-100, maxDimension?: px, convertFormat?: webp|avif|jpeg } -- supplying both is rejected. Supported families: images (PNG/JPG/WebP/AVIF), PDF (embedded JPEG images re-encoded, no AGPL tool), and Office OOXML (DOCX/PPTX/XLSX embedded media re-encoded). Returns fileBase64, bytesBefore, bytesAfter, gainPercent, mimeType and the output format. If compression would enlarge a non-converted file, the original is returned with 0% gain. WARNING: convertFormat 'avif' is CPU/RAM heavy (>= 1 GB RAM for large images). Max input size: 26214400 decoded bytes.

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

estimate_compression ~150

Detect a file (family, format, size from magic bytes) and estimate the compression gain by ACTUALLY compressing it. Pass the file as base64 (fileBase64) plus its fileName (the extension disambiguates Office formats). Omit 'level' to estimate all three presets, or set it for a single one. Returns the detected metadata and, per level, the resulting byte size, gain percentage and output format. Max input size: 26214400 decoded bytes; the HTTP body must accept base64 (decoded x 4/3 plus margin).

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

list_compression_profiles ~63

List the three compression presets (light, balanced, maximum) with their exact image quality and max-dimension caps, a note per preset, and the maximum accepted input size. Values are kept in parity with the Compresseur Local web app. Takes no parameters.

Input schema present but exposes no named parameters.

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

How do I install the MCP Compress server?

MCP Compress is a hosted endpoint at https://mcp-compress.custom-digital-services.com/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

Common questions

What is the MCP Compress server?

MCP Compress is listed in the public MCP registry as fr.custom-digital-services/mcp-compress. List compression profiles, estimate gains, and compress images, PDFs, and Office files. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://mcp-compress.custom-digital-services.com/mcp).

Is the MCP Compress server safe to use?

MCP Compress scores 70 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

What tools does the MCP Compress server expose?

MCP Compress exposes 3 tools: list_compression_profiles, estimate_compression, compress_file. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 448 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

Does the MCP Compress server require authentication?

No. We connected to MCP Compress without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

Is the MCP Compress server still maintained?

MCP Compress is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
