Trust breakdown (6 categories)

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. How we score →

Supply Chain Security100
  • No malware found by supply-chain analysis.Pass
  • No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.Pass
  • No install/post-install scripts declared.Pass
  • No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess. View diagnostics → Pass
Provenance & Transparency19
  • Repository check failed: the declared repository URL returned HTTP 404. See how to fix → View diagnostics → Fail
  • Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published. See how to fix → View diagnostics → Fail
  • Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).Pass
  • Actively maintained (last published 9 days ago).Pass
  • Security-disclosure policy not yet verified: we couldn't inspect the source repository.Unverified
Schema Quality & AI Usability74
  • AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).Pass
  • Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 555 tokens (~138/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params. See how to fix → Fail
  • Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples. See how to fix → Fail
Stability & Change Management27
  • Stability observed for 8 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.Partial
Tool Coverage100
  • 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).Pass
  • 100% of tool parameters carry a description.Pass
Capabilities20
  • Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2024-11-05; the latest is 2026-07-28. See how to fix → Fail

Changelog

Every change we have recorded for this component, newest first. Security-relevant changes are always shown. ▲ marks a change for the better, ▼ a change for the worse; unmarked changes are neutral.

  • 3 Aug 26 +1

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 23 to 27. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 7 days of observed history at the previous scan, 8 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

MCP tools — 4 exposed · ~555 tokens

The tools this component advertises to a client, with an estimated token cost for each. Expand a tool to see its parameters and schema. The per-tool counts are indicative and are not scored directly; the schema's total context footprint is one signal in Schema Quality & AI Usability.

Tool Tokens
kodiak_check_claim ~275

Fact-check a single factual claim before you rely on it or state it in your output. Kodiak retrieves real sources, weighs them, and returns a verdict (supported / false / mixed / unsupported), a calibrated confidence (0-100), the cited sources, and a tamper-evident certificate ID that anyone can later verify. Use this to avoid shipping unverified or confabulated facts. Consumes a few cents of Kodiak credit per call. At depth 1-3 the check is synchronous and returns the certificate directly. At depth 4-5 (thorough or forensic) it returns a job_id immediately and runs in the background — use kodiak_check_status(job_id) to poll for the result. This keeps long checks from being killed by MCP client tool timeouts.

NameTypeReqDescription
claimstringyesOne specific, atomic factual claim to verify — a declarative statement, not a question. Resolve pronouns; one assertion per call.
depthnumberVerification rigor 1-5. 1 = quick (~5c), 3 = thorough (default, ~15c, sync), 4 = deep (~30c, async), 5 = forensic (~45c, async). Depth 4-5 return a job_id — call kodiak_check_status to poll.

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

kodiak_check_status ~147

Poll the status of a background fact-check started by kodiak_check_claim at depth 4-5. Returns { status: "queued" | "running" | "completed" | "failed", ... }. When status is "completed", the full certificate (verdict, confidence, citations, chain_hash) is included. When "failed", an error message is included and the credits are refunded. Free — no credits consumed. Poll roughly every 20 seconds; a depth-5 check typically completes within 2-3 minutes.

NameTypeReqDescription
job_idstringyesThe job_id returned by kodiak_check_claim at depth 4-5 (format: "chk_...").

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

kodiak_credits ~35

Check the Kodiak credit balance for your API key plus the current per-depth pricing and any volume discount. No credits consumed.

Input schema present but exposes no named parameters.

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.

kodiak_verify_certificate ~98

Verify a Kodiak certificate by its ID. Recomputes the certificate hash chain and reports whether it is intact and unaltered — proving the verdict, sources, and issue time are exactly as originally certified. No API key or credits required. Use to independently confirm a certificate you were handed.

NameTypeReqDescription
certificate_idstringyesThe certificate ID, e.g. "KDK-abc123...". Public single-claim certificates only.

No output schema declared.

No examples provided.
