The tools this component advertises to a client, with an estimated token cost for each. Expand a tool to see its parameters and schema. The per-tool counts are indicative and are not scored directly; the schema's total context footprint is one signal in Schema Quality & AI Usability. A tool's description is untrusted text the model reads on every call, which is what makes this list a security surface and not just an inventory: how tool poisoning works →
adb Run adb ~623
Run an adb command against the phone attached to this computer. Pass what you would type after `adb`, e.g. `install -r -g app/build/outputs/apk/debug/app-debug.apk`, `logcat -d -t 300 *:E`, `shell dumpsys activity activities`. Runs this machine's adb, so the phone must be on it (USB or Wireless debugging): CODEDROID_SERIAL or ANDROID_SERIAL, or -s in the command, picks it when several devices are; otherwise adb's own default. Relative paths start from the client's working directory; use absolute ones if adb says it has none. USEFUL: - Install and start: `install -r -g <apk>`, `shell am start -W -n <pkg>/<activity>`, `shell am force-stop <pkg>`, `shell pm clear <pkg>`. - Logs: clear with `logcat -c` before acting, then `logcat -d -t 300`; crashes only: `logcat -d -b crash`; one app: `shell pidof <pkg>` then `logcat -d --pid=<pid>`. - Tests: `shell am instrument -w -r <test-pkg>/androidx.test.runner.AndroidJUnitRunner` (add `-e class <Class>`; set timeout_s); read the INSTRUMENTATION_STATUS lines. - State: `shell dumpsys window | grep mCurrentFocus`, `shell dumpsys package <pkg>`, `shell settings get global <key>`. RULES: - On a phone with several users, `settings`, `content`, `pm grant` and `appops` need `--user $(adb shell am get-current-user)`; adb defaults to user 0. - Do not force-stop, clear or instrument com.codedroid.app: it switches CodeDroid's accessibility off and its tools stop working. - `uiautomator dump` and UiAutomator-based tests suspend CodeDroid's accessibility while they run; use get_screen to read the screen. - Never stream: `logcat` without `-d`, `screenrecord` without `--time-limit` run until timeout_s. - Ask the user before uninstalling, clearing data, rebooting or deleting files. - `push`, `pull`, `bugreport`, `backup` and `restore` only use local files in the project or the temp directory; `install` takes any path. - Quotes group words for adb itself (`install "my app.apk"`); everything after `shell` goes to the phone's shell as written, w…

codedroid_devices Paired phones ~72
List the Android phones paired with this computer: each one's id and model (what phone tools take as device), its CodeDroid server, and its link now: connected, connecting or disconnected, with the last problem. Instant; it does not connect. codedroid_status connects and says how to fix a problem.
Input schema present but exposes no named parameters.
No output schema declared.
No examples provided.
codedroid_status CodeDroid connection ~111
Which Android phones are paired with this computer (each one's device id, model and CodeDroid server), whether CodeDroid on each is connected, and if not, why and how to fix it. Also retries the connection. Once connected it returns the phones' instructions for driving them. Pass device for one phone alone.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| device | string | – | Which paired phone runs this: its id, or its model or part of it, as codedroid_devices lists them. Required when several phones are paired. |
No output schema declared.

install_apk Install an APK ~264
Install an APK from this computer on the phone, through CodeDroid's own connection: no USB cable, shared network or adb. Use it after each build, then check the result with open_app and get_screen. Pass the path to one .apk: relative to the working directory, or absolute. An App Bundle or split APKs will not install. Returns the package and version that were installed. - If it says it is still working, call it again with the same path to keep waiting. - Android's refusals come back as they are, with what to do. Removing an installed app deletes its data: ask the user first. - It confirms Android's own install prompt. The first time, CodeDroid has to be allowed to install apps: the error says how. - It takes Play Protect's Install without scanning when it offers a scan. A warning about a harmful app is left for the user: the error says so.
| Name | Type | Req | Description |

| device | string | – | Which paired phone runs this: its id, or its model or part of it, as codedroid_devices lists them. Required when several phones are paired. |
