## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 57/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation check failed: no authorisation is required to call this server, and it exposes a tool marked destructive (delete_file).
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 74/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 668 tokens (~133/item across 5 items; 5 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 37/100
  - Stability observed for 11 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - All 1 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation.
  - An AI judge read all 6 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## Install

### How do I install the File Relay MCP server?

File Relay is a hosted endpoint at https://code.easyllms.com/relay/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http yjq001-file-relay 'https://code.easyllms.com/relay/mcp'
```

### Cursor

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "yjq001-file-relay": {
assistant mcp add yjq001-file-relay -t streamable-http -u 'https://code.easyllms.com/relay/mcp'
```

### Other

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "yjq001-file-relay": {
      "type": "http",
The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.
## MCP tools (5)
### `create_upload_link` (~193 tokens)
Create upload link
Relay a file of any size up to 100 MB. Save the file to local disk first, call this with its path, then run the returned curl command in your shell to upload it. The download link works as soon as the upload finishes. Requires outbound network access to code.easyllms.com; if curl is blocked, ask the user to allow that domain in their sandbox network settings (on claude.ai: Settings > Capabilities > Code execution).
Input parameters:
- `content_type` (string): Optional MIME type; guessed from the extension otherwise.
- `filename` (string): Optional name shown to the downloader; defaults to the file name in path.
- `path` (string, required): Local path of the file you saved, e.g. /tmp/report.pdf. Used to build the curl command.
- `ttl_hours` (number): Hours until the download link expires. Default 24, maximum 168 (7 days).
### `relay_attached_file` (~86 tokens)
Relay attached file
ChatGPT only: relay a file from the conversation (the host passes it as a file reference) and get a temporary download link.
Input parameters:
- `file` (object, required): File reference provided by the host.
- `filename` (string): Optional file name override.
- `ttl_hours` (number): Hours until the download link expires. Default 24, maximum 168 (7 days).
### `get_file_info` (~49 tokens)
Get file info
Look up a relayed file by id or download URL: name, size, type, expiry and download link.
Input parameters:
- `id` (string, required): File id or download URL returned by an upload tool.
### `read_file` (~66 tokens)
Read file
Read a relayed file's content (up to 1 MB) so an agent can pick up a file someone else relayed. Text comes back as text, images as images, other files as base64.
Input parameters:
- `id` (string, required): File id or download URL from this relay.
### `delete_file` (~50 tokens)
Delete file
Delete a relayed file before it expires. Requires the delete_token returned at upload.
Input parameters:
- `delete_token` (string, required): delete_token returned at upload.
- `id` (string, required): File id or download URL.
## Common questions
### What is the File Relay MCP server?
File Relay is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.yjq001/file-relay. Temporary file relay for AI agents: upload a generated file, get an expiring download link. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://code.easyllms.com/relay/mcp).
### Is the File Relay MCP server safe to use?
File Relay scores 69 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.
### What tools does the File Relay MCP server expose?
File Relay exposes 5 tools: create_upload_link, relay_attached_file, get_file_info, read_file, delete_file. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 444 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.
### Does the File Relay MCP server require authentication?
No. We connected to File Relay without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.
### Is the File Relay MCP server still maintained?
File Relay is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
