## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 50/100
  - Malware scan not yet available for this package.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - Runs hatchling.build at install time, a recognised build step with no custom scripting around it.
  - 1 of 31 dependencies flagged as unhealthy.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 100/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to UsamaSarwar121/gomobsec-mcp).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 2 days ago).
  - Publishes a security disclosure policy (SECURITY.md).
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 79/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 608 tokens (~76/item across 8 items; 8 tools + 0 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 17/100
  - Stability observed for 5 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 71/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 0% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 8 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 9 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

### 2026-11-05 (score 67, −15)

- [security regression] Malware scan: pass → unverified

### 2026-11-04 (score 82, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 10 to 13. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 3 days of observed history at the previous scan, 4 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

### 2026-11-03 (score 81, +15)

- [security improvement] Malware scan: unverified → pass

### 2026-11-02 (score 66, −14)

## MCP tools (8)

### `whoami` (~20 tokens)

Who am I

Show which GoMobSec account is connected and its plan.

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `get_usage` (~22 tokens)

Plan usage

How many scans the account has used this month against its plan limit.

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `list_scans` (~31 tokens)

List scans

List the account's most recent scans, newest first (1-50).

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer)

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `get_scan` (~31 tokens)

Scan status

Status of one scan and, once complete, its findings count by severity.

Input parameters:

- `scan_id` (string, required)

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `get_findings` (~87 tokens)

Scan findings

Findings of a completed scan: severity, title, CWE, MASVS category, CVSS,
location and description, most severe first. Optionally filter by severity.
False positives are left out unless include_false_positives is true.

Input parameters:

- `include_false_positives` (boolean)
- `limit` (integer)
- `scan_id` (string, required)
- `severity`

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `wait_for_scan` (~72 tokens)

Wait for a scan

Wait until a scan finishes (or the timeout passes, 1-60 minutes), reporting progress, then return its status and findings count. Scans can take longer than one wait; call it again if the scan is still running.

Input parameters:

- `scan_id` (string, required)
- `timeout_minutes` (integer)

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `start_scan` (~119 tokens)

Start a scan

Upload a local Android (.apk, .xapk, .apks, .apkm) or iOS (.ipa) app to
GoMobSec and start a security scan. Uses one scan from the account's plan —
confirm with the user first. 'quick' and 'static' work on every plan; 'full'
(static + dynamic) needs a paid plan. Returns the scan id; follow it with
wait_for_scan.

Input parameters:

- `file_path` (string, required)
- `project_name`
- `scan_mode` (string)

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

### `download_report` (~92 tokens)

Download report

Download the full report of a completed scan — DOCX (pentest report),
XLSX, JSON or SARIF (for code-scanning tools) — into the GoMobSec download
folder (GOMOBSEC_DOWNLOAD_DIR, default ~/Downloads/gomobsec). Never overwrites
an existing file. Returns the saved path.

Input parameters:

- `format` (string)
- `scan_id` (string, required)

Output parameters:

- `result` (string)

## Common questions

### What is the GoMobSec MCP server?

GoMobSec is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.UsamaSarwar121/gomobsec-mcp. Scan Android and iOS apps for security issues: findings, MASVS mapping and pentest reports. This page covers its PyPI package (gomobsec-mcp).

### Is the GoMobSec MCP server safe to use?

GoMobSec scores 67 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the GoMobSec MCP server expose?

GoMobSec exposes 8 tools: whoami, get_usage, list_scans, get_scan, get_findings, and 3 more. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 474 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the GoMobSec MCP server still maintained?

GoMobSec is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the GoMobSec MCP server under?

GoMobSec declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.

### What did VerifyMCP test on the GoMobSec MCP server?

VerifyMCP ran 15 checks on GoMobSec, covering Known CVEs, Install scripts, Dependency health, Source repository and 11 more. One item could not be completed, a gap on our side rather than a finding about GoMobSec: Malware scan. Endpoint Security and Transport & Reachability do not apply to a PyPI package, so they were not tested. The score does not measure everything, and the scoring documentation lists what it leaves out.
