## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-04.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 98/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - 36 of 117 dependencies flagged as unhealthy.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 48/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published.
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 18 days ago).
  - Publishes a security disclosure policy (SECURITY.md).
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 65/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 378 tokens (~189/item across 2 items; 2 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 60/100
  - Stability observed for 18 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 94/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 83% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 2 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 2 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (2)

### `render_diagram` (~343 tokens)

Render a system design diagram from a tiny YAML spec. Writes an .svg/.png file and returns its path. Never write SVG yourself.
Spec keys: title, type (sequence: message timeline), theme (sketch|graphite|blueprint|midnight|classic), direction (omit: auto-fit; right|down only if asked), steps (false hides numbers), legend (true lists steps),
nodes {id: "icon | Label | subtitle"}, groups {Label: [ids or group labels to nest]}, edges ["a > b > c | label", "a ..> b" dashed, "a <> b" two-way, "a => b" thick, "a -- b" line, "a > b [red]" color].
Ids that are icon names/aliases (client, lb, api, db, cache, redis, kafka, s3, cdn...) need no nodes entry.
Arrows are numbered automatically in the order listed; don't number labels.
Product names (stripe, s3, sendgrid, aks...) draw official logos if installed, else a fitting icon; brand/icon (acme/queue) for others.
To edit, change the spec file and call again with file=.

Input parameters:

- `file` (string): Path to a spec file (preferred; edit it, then re-render)
- `out` (string): Output path, .svg (default) or .png
- `preview` (boolean): Return a PNG image to inspect. Only when the user asks you to look (~1-2k tokens)
- `spec` (string): YAML spec text
- `theme` (string)

### `list_icons` (~35 tokens)

List sysketch icon names and aliases, or search installed brand logos.

Input parameters:

- `logos` (string): Search installed logos by name

## Common questions

### What is the sysketch MCP server?

sysketch is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.Tonys-Coding/sysketch. Polished system design diagrams (SVG/PNG) from a tiny YAML spec, ~18x fewer tokens than raw SVG. This page covers its npm package (sysketch-mcp).

### Is the sysketch MCP server safe to use?

sysketch scores 77 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 4 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the sysketch MCP server expose?

sysketch exposes 2 tools: render_diagram, list_icons. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 378 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the sysketch MCP server still maintained?

sysketch is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 4 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the sysketch MCP server under?

sysketch declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.
