## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-04.

- **Endpoint Security**: 74/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 66/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1055 tokens (~263/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 57/100
  - Stability observed for 17 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (50% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 5 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## MCP tools (4)

### `create_video_link` (~662 tokens)

Create a Cast video link

Build a one-tap link that makes a short vertical AI video of a character doing what the user describes (e.g. "Malfoid dances on the castle roof at midnight").
Use this whenever the user asks for an AI video, short, clip, TikTok/Reel/Shorts-style video, or animation of a character, avatar, mascot or persona.
Returns a URL on malfoid.tv/cast. Give the URL to the user and tell them to open it and tap the button: the video appears on that page, usually within half a minute (a few minutes for a 2-3 character group scene). This tool does NOT generate anything, charge anything or need an account. Live videos require purchased credits; new visitors receive no generation credits. Only characters returned by list_characters are supported premade cast for this flow; other cast members appear on story cards. Longer videos and custom characters cost credits (from $0.99).
For a premade character pass character="malfoid" (or "malfoid, leo" for up to 3). For anyone else pass character_name and character_description (their look) instead; the user designs the character before the video.

Input parameters:

- `camera` (string): Camera. auto: Let it decide; selfie: Phone-POV one-take; close-up: Faces fill the frame; wide: Big world, small figures; handheld: Breathing operator; push-in: Slow dolly in; chase: Tracking at speed…
- `character` (string): Premade character slug(s), comma-separated, up to 3: malfoid, leo. Omit when using character_name/character_description.
- `character_description` (string): The new character's look in one or two sentences: age, hair, face, clothes, vibe. Required for a good result when character_name is set.
- `character_name` (string): Name of a NEW character to design (not one of the premade slugs).
- `prompt` (string, required): What happens in the video, one line in plain words, present tense, without the character's name at the start. Concrete action + place works best: "dances on the castle roof at midnight", "reads her h…
- `seconds` (integer): Length in seconds. Live generation is paid; up to 10 without Premium; 15 needs Premium.
- `style` (string): Visual style. influencer: Phone-camera real; cinematic: Feature-film look; sakuga: Hand-painted anime action; glam: Fashion-week polish; vhs: Camcorder nostalgia; vlog: Warm everyday diary; dark-fant…
- `vibe` (string): Mood and pacing. chill: Warm, low stakes; hype: Kinetic energy; dreamy: Soft and floating; eerie: Quiet dread; melancholy: Rain and distance; romantic: Tender and close; epic: Enormous scale; comedy:…

Output parameters:

- `camera` (string)
- `character` (string)
- `credits` (integer)
- `free_for_new_visitors` (boolean)
- `notes` (array)
- `prompt` (string)
- `seconds` (integer)
- `style` (string)
- `url` (string)
- `vibe` (string)

### `list_characters` (~68 tokens)

List Cast characters

List the premade characters Cast can put in a video (slug, name, look, image, whether free), plus how to design a custom one. Call before create_video_link when you need a character slug or want to show the user who they can cast. Read-only, no account.

Output parameters:

- `characters` (array)
- `custom` (string)

### `get_prices` (~62 tokens)

Get Cast prices

Current Cast prices in USD and credits: weekly Season 1 passes, agent credit packs, Premium, and the credit cost of every video length and of a new character. Prices follow the live model price table, so call this instead of quoting from memory. Read-only.

### `get_showcase` (~80 tokens)

Get Cast example videos

Example videos of Cast characters (video URL, poster image, the line that produced it when on record, page link, and a ready-made remix link). Use to show the user what Cast makes before they open a link, or to find a proven prompt to adapt. Read-only.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer): How many examples (default 6).

## Common questions

### What is the Cast MCP server?

Cast is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as technology.katechon/cast. AI character videos from one line: returns a link the user taps. First video free, no account. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://cast.katechon.technology/mcp).

### Is the Cast MCP server safe to use?

Cast scores 77 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Cast MCP server expose?

Cast exposes 4 tools: create_video_link, list_characters, get_prices, get_showcase. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 872 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Cast MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Cast without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Cast MCP server still maintained?

Cast is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 4 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
