## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

## MCP tools (5)

### `verify_email` (~70 tokens)

Verify an email address

Verifies one email address with SMTPing. Returns a status (valid, invalid, catch_all, spamtrap, disposable, etc.) and a band: safe (send), avoid (remove) or judgement (your call). Costs 1 credit.

Input parameters:

- `email` (string, required): The email address to verify

### `verify_list` (~105 tokens)

Verify a list of email addresses

Verifies a list of addresses as one SMTPing bulk job (deduplicated, up to 100,000). Waits up to 120 seconds; if the job is still running, returns a job_id to pass to get_bulk_job later. Costs 1 credit per unique address.

Input parameters:

- `emails` (array, required): Email addresses to verify
- `wait_seconds` (integer): How long to wait for results. Default 120. Use 0 to only start the job.

### `get_bulk_job` (~42 tokens)

Get a bulk job

Returns the progress of a SMTPing bulk job, and its results once it has succeeded.

Input parameters:

- `job_id` (string, required): The job_id returned by verify_list

### `check_threat` (~56 tokens)

Check a threat list

Looks up one address in a single SMTPing threat list: spamtrap, disposable, spambot or complainer.

Input parameters:

- `email` (string, required): The email address to check
- `list` (string, required): Which list to check

### `get_credits` (~21 tokens)

Get remaining credits

Returns the remaining SMTPing credit balance and plan. Free.

The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the SMTPing Email Verification MCP server expose?

SMTPing Email Verification exposes 5 tools: verify_email, verify_list, get_bulk_job, check_threat, get_credits. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 294 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the SMTPing Email Verification MCP server still maintained?

SMTPing Email Verification is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
