## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 100/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to pipeworx-io/mcp-traveltime).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 7 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 53/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 810 tokens (~405/item across 2 items; 2 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 0/100
  - Stability not yet verified: not enough scan history yet (needs a 30-day window).
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 2 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 3 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

**Unverified: 1 category.** A category scored 0 because we could not verify it: a data source with nothing on this package, evidence we could not reach, or a check we could not run. We only credit what we can confirm.

## MCP tools (2)

### `traveltime_isochrone` (~369 tokens)

What area is reachable within N minutes by public transport (or driving/walking/cycling) from a point (isochrone / travel-time polygon). Unlike road-only routing, this supports public_transport. Returns the reachable-area polygon(s). Example: traveltime_isochrone({ lat: 51.5072, lon: -0.1276, travel_time: 30, minutes: true, transport: "public_transport", departure_time: "2026-07-06T08:30:00Z", _apiKey: "appId:apiKey" })

Input parameters:

- `_apiKey` (string, required): TravelTime credentials as "appId:apiKey" from your traveltime.com account.
- `arrival_time` (string): ISO 8601 timestamp of arrival. Arrival-based isochrone: area from which you can arrive by this time. If set, overrides departure_time. Public-transport isochrones need one of departure_time/arrival_t…
- `departure_time` (string): ISO 8601 timestamp of departure (e.g. "2026-07-06T08:30:00Z"). Departure-based isochrone: area reachable leaving at this time.
- `lat` (number, required): Origin latitude
- `lon` (number, required): Origin longitude
- `minutes` (boolean): If true, travel_time is interpreted as minutes and multiplied by 60.
- `transport` (string): Transport mode (default "public_transport"). One of: driving, walking, cycling, public_transport, driving+public_transport.
- `travel_time` (number): Max journey time. Seconds by default (default 1800 = 30 min). Set minutes:true to pass minutes instead. Max 14400s / 240 min.

### `traveltime_time_filter` (~386 tokens)

Which of these locations are reachable within N minutes from an origin by public transport (or driving/walking/cycling), and how long each takes. Filters candidate destinations by travel time. Example: traveltime_time_filter({ origin_lat: 51.5072, origin_lon: -0.1276, destinations: [{ id: "a", lat: 51.52, lon: -0.09 }, { id: "b", lat: 51.60, lon: -0.20 }], travel_time: 45, minutes: true, transport: "public_transport", departure_time: "2026-07-06T08:30:00Z", _apiKey: "appId:apiKey" })

Input parameters:

- `_apiKey` (string, required): TravelTime credentials as "appId:apiKey" from your traveltime.com account.
- `departure_time` (string): ISO 8601 departure timestamp (e.g. "2026-07-06T08:30:00Z"). Public-transport searches need a timestamp; defaults to now if omitted.
- `destinations` (array, required): Candidate destinations to test. Each: { id?, lat, lon }. Max 2000. IDs auto-generated ("dest_0", ...) if omitted.
- `minutes` (boolean): If true, travel_time is interpreted as minutes and multiplied by 60.
- `origin_lat` (number, required): Origin latitude
- `origin_lon` (number, required): Origin longitude
- `transport` (string): Transport mode (default "public_transport"). One of: driving, walking, cycling, public_transport, driving+public_transport.
- `travel_time` (number): Max journey time. Seconds by default (default 1800 = 30 min). Set minutes:true to pass minutes. Max 14400s / 240 min.

## Common questions

### What is the Traveltime MCP server?

Traveltime is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.pipeworx-io/traveltime. TravelTime MCP, multi-modal isochrones & reachability incl. PUBLIC TRANSPORT (traveltime.com).… This page covers its npm package (@pipeworx/mcp-traveltime).

### Is the Traveltime MCP server safe to use?

Traveltime scores 77 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Traveltime MCP server expose?

Traveltime exposes 2 tools: traveltime_isochrone, traveltime_time_filter. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 755 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Traveltime MCP server still maintained?

Traveltime is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Traveltime MCP server under?

Traveltime declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.

### What did VerifyMCP test on the Traveltime MCP server?

VerifyMCP ran 15 checks on Traveltime, covering Malware scan, Known CVEs, Install scripts, Dependency health and 11 more. One item could not be completed, a gap on our side rather than a finding about Traveltime: Stability. One category scores 0 for that reason, because we only credit what we can confirm. Endpoint Security and Transport & Reachability do not apply to an npm package, so they were not tested. The score does not measure everything, and the scoring documentation lists what it leaves out.
