## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 50/100
  - Malware scan not yet available for this package.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to pipeworx-io/mcp-sba-loans).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 0 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 67/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1228 tokens (~204/item across 6 items; 6 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 23/100
  - Stability observed for 7 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 75/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - 0 of 1 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation; "sba_charge_off_aggregate" implies "charge" and declares no destructiveHint at all, which the MCP spec reads as destructive by default.
  - An AI judge read all 7 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (6)

### `sba_loan_lookup` (~202 tokens)

Look up a small business's SBA 7(a) or 504 loan(s) by borrower name. Returns individual loan records: amounts, lender, approval date, status (P I F / PIF = paid in full, CHGOFF = charged off, CANCLD = cancelled, EXEMPT), and — for charged-off loans — the charge-off amount. Street addresses are never stored or returned (city/state/ZIP only). Scope to a state to disambiguate common business names.

Input parameters:

- `borrower_name` (string, required): Business or sole-proprietor name to search (substring match), e.g. "Ameripro Construction".
- `limit` (number): Max loans to return (1-100, default 20).
- `program` (string): Optional: "7A" or "504". Omit to search both.
- `state` (string): Two-letter state code to scope the search, e.g. "PA".

### `sba_largest_loans` (~160 tokens)

Largest SBA 7(a)/504 loans, ranked by gross approval amount, filterable by program, NAICS code, borrower state, and/or lender name. Answers "what are the biggest SBA loans in NAICS X" or "largest SBA loans in Texas".

Input parameters:

- `lender_name` (string): Optional lender name substring, e.g. "Wells Fargo".
- `limit` (number): Max loans to return (1-100, default 25).
- `naics_code` (string): Optional 6-digit NAICS code, e.g. "722511" (restaurants).
- `program` (string): Optional: "7A" or "504".
- `state` (string): Optional 2-letter borrower state code.

### `sba_lender_league_table` (~183 tokens)

Lender league table — ranks lenders by SBA loan count and total dollar volume. For 7(a) loans "lender" is the originating bank; for 504 loans it is the CDC (Certified Development Company) that books the debenture. Answers "which bank does the most SBA lending in NAICS Y" or "top SBA 504 lenders in California".

Input parameters:

- `limit` (number): Max lenders to return (1-100, default 25).
- `naics_code` (string): Optional 6-digit NAICS code.
- `program` (string): Optional: "7A" or "504". Omit to combine both (note: 7(a) banks and 504 CDCs are different kinds of entity, so combining programs mixes those populations).
- `state` (string): Optional 2-letter borrower state code.

### `sba_charge_off_aggregate` (~176 tokens)

Charge-off rate and dollar amount, aggregated by NAICS code, state, lender, or program. Answers "which industries have the highest SBA loan charge-off rate" or "charge-off amount by state". charge_off_rate is charged-off loan COUNT divided by total loan count in that group (not dollar-weighted).

Input parameters:

- `group_by` (string): One of: naics | state | lender | program (default naics).
- `limit` (number): Max groups to return (1-100, default 25).
- `naics_code` (string): Optional 6-digit NAICS code to scope before grouping.
- `program` (string): Optional: "7A" or "504" to scope before grouping.
- `state` (string): Optional 2-letter borrower state code to scope before grouping.

### `ppp_loan_lookup` (~264 tokens)

Look up a business's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan(s) by borrower name. Returns each loan's approved amount, jobs_reported (the headcount the business stated on its 2020-21 application), NAICS code, servicing and originating lender, approval date, first or second draw, loan status, and forgiveness amount and date. Names match from their first word ("Sumter Coatings" finds "SUMTER COATINGS, INC."); add zip to also match a word inside the name. Business borrowers only: sole proprietors, self-employed individuals and borrowers named as a person are excluded, and no street address is stored. Source: SBA PPP FOIA data, as of 2024-09-30.

Input parameters:

- `borrower_name` (string, required): Business name, from its first word, e.g. "Sumter Coatings". Suffixes like Inc/LLC and punctuation are ignored.
- `limit` (number): Max loans to return (1-100, default 20).
- `state` (string): Optional 2-letter borrower state code to narrow common names, e.g. "SC".
- `zip` (string): Optional 5-digit borrower ZIP. With it, a word inside the name also matches.

### `ppp_aggregate` (~187 tokens)

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) totals grouped by NAICS industry code, borrower state, or servicing lender: loan count, total approved, loans and dollars forgiven, forgiveness rate, and total jobs reported. Optionally scoped to one borrower state. Answers "which industries got the most PPP money in Texas" or "which lenders serviced the most PPP dollars". Business borrowers only (sole proprietors and individuals excluded). Source: SBA PPP FOIA data, as of 2024-09-30.

Input parameters:

- `group_by` (string): naics | state | lender (default naics).
- `limit` (number): Max groups to return (1-100, default 25).
- `order_by` (string): Rank by total approved amount (default), loan count, or jobs reported.
- `state` (string): Optional 2-letter borrower state code to scope before grouping.

### What is the Sba Loans MCP server?

Sba Loans is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.pipeworx-io/sba-loans. SBA loans MCP, U.S. Small Business Administration 7(a) / 504 FOIA loan data (fleet #1921, phase… This page covers its npm package (@pipeworx/mcp-sba-loans).

### Is the Sba Loans MCP server safe to use?

Sba Loans scores 66 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Sba Loans MCP server expose?

Sba Loans exposes 6 tools: sba_loan_lookup, sba_largest_loans, sba_lender_league_table, sba_charge_off_aggregate, ppp_loan_lookup, ppp_aggregate. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 1,172 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Sba Loans MCP server still maintained?

Sba Loans is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Sba Loans MCP server under?

Sba Loans declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.

### What did VerifyMCP test on the Sba Loans MCP server?

VerifyMCP ran 15 checks on Sba Loans, covering Known CVEs, Install scripts, Dependency health, Source repository and 11 more. One item could not be completed, a gap on our side rather than a finding about Sba Loans: Malware scan. Endpoint Security and Transport & Reachability do not apply to an npm package, so they were not tested. The score does not measure everything, and the scoring documentation lists what it leaves out.
