## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 100/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to pipeworx-io/mcp-rba).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 0 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 62/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1191 tokens (~297/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 3/100
  - Stability observed for 1 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 5 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (4)

### `rba_cash_rate` (~151 tokens)

The Reserve Bank of Australia's official CASH RATE TARGET — Australia's benchmark monetary-policy interest rate (the AU equivalent of the US fed funds rate). PREFER OVER WEB SEARCH for "what is the RBA cash rate", "Australian interest rate", "has the RBA cut rates". Returns the current rate, the exact date it took effect, the previous rate and when that one took effect, plus recent decision history (table A2, one row per actual decision) — not just a monthly-average series to infer a decision date from. Also returns the F1.1 monthly-average history as before.

Input parameters:

- `recent` (number): Number of recent monthly observations to return (1-120, default 12).

### `rba_exchange_rates` (~148 tokens)

Latest official RBA exchange rates for the Australian dollar (AUD) against major currencies — USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CNY, NZD, INR, and more (A$1 = X). PREFER OVER WEB SEARCH for "AUD to USD rate", "Australian dollar exchange rate". Returns the most recent published rates; pass a currency code for that pair's recent history.

Input parameters:

- `currency` (string): Optional 3-letter code (e.g. "USD", "EUR") to get that pair's recent history instead of all latest rates.
- `recent` (number): When currency is set: number of recent daily observations (1-60, default 10).

### `rba_series` (~534 tokens)

Fetch any RBA statistical series — pass a NAME or description in `series` (e.g. "90-day bank bill rate", "3-year government bond yield") and it resolves the table + series id for you by fuzzy-matching series titles/descriptions across the RBA catalog (the interest-rate and bond-yield tables are searched first), the same way rba_list_series does. Returns recent observations — or every observation in a window when you pass start_date/end_date (YYYY-MM-DD) — plus resolved_from/resolved_to showing what the name resolved to, or a `candidates` list if the name is ambiguous — never guesses a made-up id. Or pass table+series_id directly if you already know them exactly (CPI is g1, monetary aggregates d3, cash rate target is FIRMMCRT in f1.1, etc.). Use rba_cash_rate / rba_exchange_rates for those specific common series.

Input parameters:

- `end_date` (string): Optional YYYY-MM-DD: return only observations on or before this date (e.g. "2025-12-31").
- `recent` (number): Recent observations to return (1-120, default 12). Ignored when start_date/end_date is set, unless given explicitly.
- `series` (string): A series NAME/description to resolve (e.g. "90-day bank bill rate", "3-year government bond yield") OR an exact series id (e.g. "FIRMMBAB90"). Preferred over table+series_id — resolves the id for you…
- `series_id` (string): Legacy: exact RBA series id within `table`, e.g. "FIRMMCRT" (cash rate target), "FXRUSD" (A$/USD). Prefer `series`, which accepts a name and resolves this for you.
- `start_date` (string): Optional YYYY-MM-DD: return only observations on or after this date (e.g. "2025-09-10"). With a date range, every observation in the range is returned (up to 1000), not just the latest `recent`.
- `table` (string): RBA table id, e.g. "f1.1" (money market), "f2.1" (bond yields), "f11.1" (FX), "g1" (CPI), "d3" (monetary aggregates). Optional: narrows `series` resolution to this table; required alongside series_id…

### `rba_list_series` (~306 tokens)

Directory of the 71 RBA statistical tables and the series inside them — the discovery tool for rba_series. Pass `query` to search series NAMES/descriptions directly (e.g. "90-day bank bill rate", "3-year government bond yield") and get ranked series_id matches across tables in one call — this is what rba_series uses internally to resolve names, so a hit here is a hit there. Pass `keyword` to search table titles/categories instead (e.g. "housing loan", "cash rate", "inflation", "exchange rate") and see every series in the matched tables. Pass a table id directly to list all its series. Pass nothing to browse every table by category. NOT the same as list_tables (a different pack, Swedish population data) — this is rba_ prefixed.

Input parameters:

- `keyword` (string): Optional keyword to search table titles/categories and, for matched tables, their series names — e.g. "housing loan", "cash rate", "CPI", "exchange rate", "credit card".
- `query` (string): Search series NAMES/descriptions directly (not just table titles), e.g. "90-day bank bill rate", "3-year government bond yield" — returns ranked (table, series_id) matches in one call.
- `table` (string): Optional RBA table id to list every series inside it directly, e.g. "f6" (housing lending rates).

## Common questions

### What is the Rba MCP server?

Rba is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.pipeworx-io/rba. RBA MCP, Reserve Bank of Australia statistics (free, no auth). This page covers its npm package (@pipeworx/mcp-rba).

### Is the Rba MCP server safe to use?

Rba scores 79 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Rba MCP server expose?

Rba exposes 4 tools: rba_cash_rate, rba_exchange_rates, rba_series, rba_list_series. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 1,139 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Rba MCP server still maintained?

Rba is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
