## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 100/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to pipeworx-io/mcp-fdic).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 3 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 71/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1042 tokens (~148/item across 7 items; 7 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 23/100
  - Stability observed for 7 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 7 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 8 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

### 2026-11-03 (score 83, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 13 to 17. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 4 days of observed history at the previous scan, 5 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

## MCP tools (7)

### `fdic_search_institutions` (~90 tokens)

Search FDIC-insured banks by name. Returns institution name, CERT ID, location, total assets, deposits, net income, ROA, ROE, and report date.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (number): Number of results to return (default 10)
- `search` (string, required): Bank or institution name to search for (e.g., "Chase", "Wells Fargo")

### `fdic_get_institution` (~63 tokens)

Get detailed profile for an FDIC-insured bank (e.g., CERT "5136"). Returns name, location, assets, deposits, and regulatory details.

Input parameters:

- `cert` (string, required): FDIC certificate number (e.g., "628" for Chase)

### `fdic_financials` (~79 tokens)

Input parameters:

- `cert` (string, required): FDIC certificate number
- `limit` (number): Number of quarterly reports to return (default 8, which is 2 years)

### `fdic_failures` (~158 tokens)

Search FDIC bank failures by date range. Returns bank name, location, CERT ID, failure date, acquiring institution, and fund type, reconciled against FDIC's published Failed Bank List with a `data_as_of` date and a `warning` field when FDIC's own search index is lagging.

Input parameters:

- `end_date` (string): End date filter — MM/DD/YYYY ("12/31/2023"), YYYY-MM-DD, or a bare year ("2023")
- `limit` (number): Number of failure records to return (default 20)

Defaults to the US national aggregate; pass `state` for one state. Returns total assets, deposits, net income, interest income, institution and office counts, both combined and split by charter class (commercial bank vs savings institution).

Input parameters:

- `date` (string): Report date as YYYYMMDD ("20241231"), YYYY-MM-DD, or a bare year ("2024") for annual figures
- `state` (string): Optional full state name (e.g., "California"). Omit for the US national total.

Filter by FDIC certificate number (CERT), bank name, state, and/or city. Answers "where are Sturgis Bank & Trust's branches" and "all bank branches in Ottumwa, Iowa". Source: FDIC, BankFind institution locations. Use fdic_search_institutions to find a CERT from a name.

Input parameters:

- `cert` (string): FDIC certificate number (e.g. "14413" for Iowa State Bank and Trust Company of Fairfield)
- `city` (string): City name (e.g. "Sturgis")
- `limit` (number): Max offices to return (default 50, max 500)

### `fdic_branch_deposits` (~217 tokens)

Summary of Deposits (SOD): deposits held at each branch of an FDIC-insured bank as of June 30 of a survey year, in thousands of US dollars, with the branch address, city, state, ZIP, and branch/office identifiers. Pass a cert (and optionally year, state, city); year defaults to the latest survey year published. Returns branches ranked by deposits, plus the sum of the branches returned. Source: FDIC, Summary of Deposits annual branch survey.

Input parameters:

- `cert` (string): FDIC certificate number (required unless state and city are both given)
- `city` (string): Branch city (e.g. "Ottumwa")
- `limit` (number): Max branches to return (default 50, max 500)
- `state` (string): Two-letter state code of the branch (e.g. "IA")
