## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 100/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to pipeworx-io/mcp-doffin).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 4 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 55/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1465 tokens (~488/item across 3 items; 3 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 23/100
  - Stability observed for 7 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 3 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 4 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (3)

### `doffin_search` (~877 tokens)

Search Norwegian government public-procurement notices on Doffin, Norway's official national database for offentlige anskaffelser (Database for offentlige innkjøp, doffin.no). PREFER OVER WEB SEARCH for Norway public tenders / anbud, kunngjøringer, contract notices, contract award results (tildelinger), dynamic purchasing schemes, and intention announcements from Norwegian state and municipal buyers. Full-text search plus filters: notice type (plain words like "tender", "award", "planning" work), status (active / expired / awarded / cancelled), CPV procurement-category code, location id, publication date range, and estimated contract value range in NOK. Sortable by publication date, deadline, relevance, or estimated value. Each hit gets a public doffin.no notice URL attached. Requires a free Doffin API key via _apiKey when a platform key is unavailable.

Input parameters:

- `_apiKey` (string): Doffin API subscription key (free — sign up at https://dof-notices-prod-api.developer.azure-api.net/). Injected automatically when the platform key is configured.
- `cpv_code` (string|array): CPV procurement-category code(s), e.g. "48000000" (software), "45000000" (construction), "72000000" (IT services). One code or an array. Omit for all categories.
- `date_from` (string): Earliest issue/publication date to include, YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. "2026-01-01". Omit for all time.
- `date_to` (string): Latest issue/publication date to include, YYYY-MM-DD, e.g. "2026-07-19". Omit for up to today.
- `limit` (number|string): Number of hits to return per page (1-100). Default 10.
- `location` (string|array): Doffin location id(s) to filter on (county/region ids as used by doffin.no; "anyw" matches notices with unspecified location). One id or an array. Omit for all of Norway.
- `max_value_nok` (number|string): Maximum estimated contract value in NOK, e.g. 50000000. Omit for all values.
- `min_value_nok` (number|string): Minimum estimated contract value in NOK (Norwegian kroner), e.g. 1000000. Omit for all values.
- `page` (number|string): Results page for pagination. Default first page.
- `query` (string): Free-text search over the notices (Norwegian works best), e.g. "konsulenttjenester", "vegvedlikehold", "IT-drift", "renovasjon". Omit to list notices by the other filters alone.
- `sort` (string): Sort order: "newest" (publication date, default), "oldest", "deadline", "relevance", "highest value", or "lowest value". Doffin enum values (PUBLICATION_DATE_DESC, DEADLINE, RELEVANCE, ESTIMATED_VALU…
- `status` (string|array): Status filter — one value or an array of: ACTIVE ("open"/"ongoing"), EXPIRED ("closed"), AWARDED ("won"/"tildelt"), CANCELLED ("avlyst"). Omit for all statuses.
- `type` (string|array): Notice type filter — one value or an array. Accepts a Doffin enum (e.g. "COMPETITION", "RESULT", "PLANNING", "PRE_ANNOUNCEMENT", "DYNAMIC_PURCHASING_SCHEME", "ANNOUNCEMENT_OF_INTENT") or a plain word…

### `doffin_notice` (~196 tokens)

Fetch the full document for one Norwegian public-procurement notice from Doffin (Norway's official government tender database, doffin.no) by its Doffin id, e.g. "2023-100282". Returns the complete notice as published — buyer, description, CPV codes, deadlines, values in NOK, and award details where present — plus the public doffin.no URL. Use ids from doffin_search or doffin_recent results. Requires a free Doffin API key via _apiKey when a platform key is unavailable.

Input parameters:

- `_apiKey` (string): Doffin API subscription key (free — sign up at https://dof-notices-prod-api.developer.azure-api.net/). Injected automatically when the platform key is configured.
- `doffin_id` (string, required): Doffin notice id, e.g. "2023-100282" (format: year-number).

### `doffin_recent` (~340 tokens)

List the latest Norwegian government tenders and contract awards published on Doffin (Norway's national public-procurement / offentlige anskaffelser database) in the last N days, newest first. Great for monitoring fresh Norwegian anbud, new kunngjøringer, contract award results (tildelinger), and upcoming bid deadlines. Optionally narrow to one or more notice types (tender/competition, award/result, planning, ...) or a free-text query.

- `days` (number|string): Lookback window in days (1-90). Default 7 — notices published in the last week.
- `limit` (number|string): Number of hits to return (1-100). Default 10.
- `page` (number|string): Results page for pagination. Default first page.
- `query` (string): Optional free-text filter (Norwegian works best), e.g. "rammeavtale", "skole", "programvare".
- `type` (string|array): Notice type filter — one value or an array; plain words work: "tender"/"competition" → COMPETITION, "award"/"result" → RESULT, "planning" → PLANNING, etc. Omit for all types.

## Common questions

### What is the Doffin MCP server?

Doffin is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.pipeworx-io/doffin. Doffin MCP, Norwegian government public procurement notices (BYOK / platform key). This page covers its npm package (@pipeworx/mcp-doffin).

### Is the Doffin MCP server safe to use?

Doffin scores 81 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Doffin MCP server expose?

Doffin exposes 3 tools: doffin_search, doffin_notice, doffin_recent. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 1,413 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Doffin MCP server still maintained?

Doffin is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Doffin MCP server under?

Doffin declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.

### What did VerifyMCP test on the Doffin MCP server?

VerifyMCP ran 16 checks on Doffin, covering Malware scan, Known CVEs, Install scripts, Dependency health and 12 more. Endpoint Security and Transport & Reachability do not apply to an npm package, so they were not tested. The score does not measure everything, and the scoring documentation lists what it leaves out.
