## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-23.

- **Endpoint Security**: 97/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation is enforced on tool calls, advertised via RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata. Discovery is public, which costs nothing: no tool can be invoked without a token.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC is configured correctly; the domain's records validate against the full chain to the root.
  - The authorisation server offers only Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), which MCP 2026-07-28 deprecated in favour of Client ID Metadata Documents.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 44/100
  - 0% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 710 tokens (~101/item across 7 items; 6 tools + 1 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 3/100
  - Stability observed for 1 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 6 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 8 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 73/100
  - Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2025-06-18; the latest is 2026-07-28.
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

## MCP tools (6)

### `create_song` (~271 tokens)

Make a song

Make an original instrumental song from a description: genre, mood, instruments, tempo, what it's for. Returns it queued; the player in the chat shows it rendering and plays it when it's done (about a minute), with MP3 and WAV downloads and its five stems (drums, bass, guitar, keys, other) as FLAC. Where there's no player, get_song gives those links once it's done. Artist names are not allowed and are removed from prompts before generation: describe the sound instead. Royalty-free, for commercial games and videos.

Input parameters:

- `bpm` (integer): Tempo; left out, it's chosen from the prompt.
- `duration` (number): Length in seconds (default 120).
- `key` (string): A note with sharps and major or minor, like "C major" or "F# minor".
- `loop` (boolean): A seamless loop, for a game level or a background.
- `prompt` (string, required): The music in words, e.g. "a calm village theme with flute and harp".
- `seed` (integer): Makes the same song again from the same words and settings; left out, a new one each time.
- `variations` (integer): How many versions of it to make (default 1). Two count as one song.

### `get_song` (~76 tokens)

Check a song

Where a song made with create_song stands: its place in line, or, once done, each version's MP3 and WAV links and its five stems' FLAC links (a few seconds after the mix), and any part being made again with redo_stem.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): The song's id from create_song.

### `redo_stem` (~105 tokens)

Redo one part

Make one stem of a finished song again (new drums, say), with the other four exactly as they are; the mix becomes the new part with the rest. Counts as one song. Takes about a minute; the player shows it. undo_stem puts the old part back.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): The song's id.
- `stem` (string, required): The part to make again.
- `version` (integer): Which version of the song (default 1).

### `undo_stem` (~76 tokens)

Undo the last redo

Put a song's version back to how it was before its last redo_stem: the old part plays again, and the mix with it. Costs nothing. Only the last redo can be undone.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): The song's id.
- `version` (integer): Which version of the song (default 1).

### `list_songs` (~58 tokens)

Your songs

The songs on the person's Daydream account, newest first: each one's id, words, length, tempo and how many versions. Use get_song with an id to play one.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer): How many (default 10).

### `get_songs_left` (~39 tokens)

Songs left

How many songs the person has made this month and how many they can make (no limit on some accounts), and when the count starts again.

## Common questions

### What is the Daydream MCP server?

Daydream is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as live.daydream.gen/music. Original instrumental songs from words, each with five stems. Royalty-free, for games and videos. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://gen.daydream.live/mcp).

### Is the Daydream MCP server safe to use?

### What tools does the Daydream MCP server expose?

Daydream exposes 6 tools: create_song, get_song, redo_stem, undo_stem, list_songs, get_songs_left. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 625 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Daydream MCP server require authentication?

Yes. Daydream asked us for credentials when we connected, so you will need to authorise it in your MCP client before it can do anything.

### Is the Daydream MCP server still maintained?
