## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-04.

- **Endpoint Security**: 89/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation is enforced on tool calls, advertised via RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata. Discovery is public, which costs nothing: no tool can be invoked without a token.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
  - The authorisation server offers only Dynamic Client Registration (RFC 7591), which MCP 2026-07-28 deprecated in favour of Client ID Metadata Documents.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 80/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 2474 tokens (~112/item across 22 items; 22 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 10/100
  - Stability observed for 3 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 22 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 22 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 60/100
  - Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2025-06-18; the latest is 2026-07-28.

### `upcloud_get_billing_summary` (~117 tokens)

Get monthly billing summary

Billing summary for one month with per-resource details (servers, storages, managed databases, object storage, …: amount, hours, plan, zone, labels) and totals. Needs an account allowed to read billing. UpCloud: GET /1.3/account/billing/summary/{yearmonth}.

Input parameters:

### `upcloud_list_servers` (~226 tokens)

List servers

Cloud servers on the account (summary: uuid, title, hostname, zone, plan, cores, memory, state, tags, labels). Filter by state, a free-text search (name, title, uuid, zone, IP, hostname, tag or template), tags or labels. Use upcloud_get_server for IPs and disks. UpCloud: GET /1.3/server.

Input parameters:

- `label` (array): Label filters: a key (`env`) or key=value (`env=prod`). Several are ANDed. Keys match case-insensitively.
- `limit` (integer): Max servers to return (use with offset to page).
- `offset` (integer): Offset into the results (API default 0).
- `search` (string): Match by name, title, uuid, zone, IP address, hostname, tag name or template name.
- `state` (string): Only servers in this state.
- `tag` (string): Tag filter: `a,b` matches servers with ANY of the tags, `a:b` servers with ALL of them.

### `upcloud_get_server` (~74 tokens)

Input parameters:

- `storage_uuid` (string, required): The storage UUID.

### `upcloud_list_ip_addresses` (~64 tokens)

### `upcloud_start_server` (~95 tokens)

Start a server

Start a stopped server (billing for a started server resumes). Fails with 409 if it is not stopped. `async` returns immediately — poll upcloud_get_server for state=started. UpCloud: POST /1.3/server/{uuid}/start.

Input parameters:

- `server_uuid` (string, required): The server UUID.
- `start_type` (string): sync (default) waits for the start; async returns at once.

### `upcloud_stop_server` (~137 tokens)

Stop a server

DISRUPTIVE: stop a running server — it goes offline until started again with upcloud_start_server. soft (default) sends an ACPI shutdown; with a timeout, a hard stop follows if it is still running. hard is like pulling the plug and can lose unsaved data. UpCloud: POST /1.3/server/{uuid}/stop.

Input parameters:

- `server_uuid` (string, required): The server UUID.
- `stop_type` (string): soft = ACPI shutdown signal (default); hard = equivalent of pulling the power cable.
- `timeout` (integer): Soft-stop timeout in seconds, 1-600.

### `upcloud_restart_server` (~168 tokens)

Restart a server

DISRUPTIVE: stop and start a running server. soft (default) needs a timeout: after it, timeout_action=destroy hard-stops and restarts, ignore (API default) aborts and leaves the server running. hard power-cycles immediately. UpCloud: POST /1.3/server/{uuid}/restart.

Input parameters:

- `server_uuid` (string, required): The server UUID.
- `stop_type` (string): soft = ACPI shutdown signal (default); hard = equivalent of pulling the power cable.
- `timeout` (integer): Soft-stop timeout in seconds, 1-600. Required for a soft restart.
- `timeout_action` (string): What to do if the soft stop times out: destroy (hard stop, then start) or ignore (give up).

### `upcloud_create_storage_backup` (~107 tokens)

Back up a storage

Take an on-demand, point-in-time backup of a storage device. Additive (nothing is overwritten) but backups are billed per GB. Asynchronous: the storage goes to a backuping/maintenance state and back to online — poll upcloud_get_storage. UpCloud: POST /1.3/storage/{uuid}/backup.

Input parameters:

- `storage_uuid` (string, required): The storage UUID.
- `title` (string, required): A short description for the backup, 1-255 characters.

### `upcloud_modify_server` (~163 tokens)

Rename a server / set its backup schedule

Change a server's title, hostname and/or simple-backup schedule. Only these reversible fields are exposed — no resizing or plan change (billing) and no firewall toggle. simple_backup is `HHMM,daily|dailies|weeklies|monthlies` (UTC time) or `no` to disable. UpCloud: PUT /1.3/server/{uuid}.

Input parameters:

- `hostname` (string): A valid hostname, e.g. web1.example.com (max 128).
- `server_uuid` (string, required): The server UUID.
- `simple_backup` (string): e.g. 0430,dailies — or `no` to turn simple backups off.
- `title` (string): A short informational description, 0-255 characters.
