## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-23.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 98/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - 31 of 93 dependencies flagged as unhealthy.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 45/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published.
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 10 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 71/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 486 tokens (~97/item across 5 items; 5 tools + 0 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 30/100
  - Stability observed for 9 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.

## MCP tools (5)

### `demarker_identify` (~80 tokens)

Identify an image (free)

Free. Upload a local image and report what it carries: visible marks, AI metadata, inferred hidden watermarks, and the credit price of a clean. Works without an API key (keyless scan, rate-limited). Spends nothing.

Input parameters:

- `path` (string, required): Absolute path to a PNG, JPG, WebP or AVIF file.

### `demarker_clean` (~227 tokens)

Clean an image (spends credits)

Spends credits. Identifies the image, checks the price against maxCredits (nothing is charged above it), runs the GPU clean, and saves the result next to the input as <name>.clean.<ext> (never overwrites). Needs DEMARKER_API_KEY. The user must confirm the rights statement: the client asks them when it supports it; otherwise pass rightsAttested true only after the user explicitly agreed to the statement.

Input parameters:

- `keepResolution` (boolean): Keep original size above 12 MP (costs 2 credits).
- `maxCredits` (integer, required): The most this call may spend. Required. 1 credit is one clean up to 12 MP.
- `outputPath` (string): Where to save the result. Must not already exist.
- `path` (string, required): Absolute path to the input image.
- `rightsAttested` (boolean): True only if the user explicitly confirmed the rights statement. Ignored when the client can ask the user directly.
- `vendorHint` (string): Where the image was made, if identify found no hidden target.

### `demarker_get_balance` (~24 tokens)

Get credit balance

Read the account's credit balance. Needs DEMARKER_API_KEY.

### `demarker_get_pricing` (~25 tokens)

Get pricing

Credits per clean and the credit packs. Public, no key needed.

### `demarker_get_job` (~44 tokens)

Get a job

Status and report for a job from demarker_identify or demarker_clean. Needs DEMARKER_API_KEY.

Input parameters:

- `jobId` (string, required): The jobId.

## Common questions

### What is the Demarker MCP server?

Demarker is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.demarker/mcp. Identify what an AI image carries (marks, metadata, watermarks), then clean it. This page covers its npm package (@demarker/mcp).

### Is the Demarker MCP server safe to use?

Demarker scores 73 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 23 October 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Demarker MCP server expose?

Demarker exposes 5 tools: demarker_identify, demarker_clean, demarker_get_balance, demarker_get_pricing, demarker_get_job. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 400 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Demarker MCP server still maintained?

Demarker is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 23 October 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Demarker MCP server under?

Demarker declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.
