## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-24.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 100/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - 0 of 8 dependencies flagged as unhealthy.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 97/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Cryptographically verified build provenance (signed, bound to himanshu-mamgain/archform).
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 3 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 73/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 531 tokens (~177/item across 3 items; 3 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 0/100
  - Stability not yet verified: not enough scan history yet (needs a 30-day window).
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (67% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 3 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 4 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

**Unverified: 1 category.** A category scored 0 because we could not verify it: a data source with nothing on this package, evidence we could not reach, or a check we could not run. We only credit what we can confirm.

## MCP tools (3)

### `list_formats` (~93 tokens)

List diagram formats

List the diagram languages this server can render (Mermaid, PlantUML, C4-PlantUML, Graphviz, D2, Structurizr, BPMN, Excalidraw), with each one's aliases, supported outputs (svg, png), syntax docs link and a minimal valid example. Call this before writing a diagram in a format you are unsure of, or to check whether PNG output is available.

Output parameters:

- `formats` (array)

### `render_diagram` (~223 tokens)

Render diagram

Render diagram source (Mermaid, PlantUML, C4-PlantUML, Graphviz/DOT, D2, Structurizr, BPMN, Excalidraw) to an SVG or PNG image, and get a shareable link that opens the diagram in a browser. Use it when the user wants to see a diagram. If the source is invalid the result is an error with the parser message and line number: fix the source and retry. Call validate_diagram to check syntax without rendering, or list_formats for examples and which formats support PNG.

Input parameters:

- `format` (string, required): Diagram language. One of: mermaid, plantuml, c4plantuml, graphviz, d2, structurizr, bpmn, excalidraw, dot ("dot" is an alias for graphviz).
- `output` (string): Image type. Defaults to svg. d2, bpmn and excalidraw support svg only.
- `source` (string, required): The diagram source text, exactly as it would appear in a file of that format.

### `validate_diagram` (~172 tokens)

Validate diagram

Check whether diagram source (Mermaid, PlantUML, C4-PlantUML, Graphviz/DOT, D2, Structurizr, BPMN, Excalidraw) is valid, without returning an image. Returns { valid, errors: [{ line?, message }] }. Use it to check syntax you are unsure of before rendering or before handing diagram code to the user. Call list_formats for a valid example of each format.

Input parameters:

- `format` (string, required): Diagram language. One of: mermaid, plantuml, c4plantuml, graphviz, d2, structurizr, bpmn, excalidraw, dot ("dot" is an alias for graphviz).
- `source` (string, required): The diagram source text, exactly as it would appear in a file of that format.

Output parameters:

- `errors` (array)
- `valid` (boolean)

## Common questions

### What is the Archform MCP server?

Archform is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.himanshu-mamgain/archform. Render and validate diagrams as code: Mermaid, PlantUML, C4, Graphviz, D2 and more. This page covers its npm package (@archform/mcp).

### Is the Archform MCP server safe to use?

Archform scores 81 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 24 October 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. Its build provenance is signed and verified. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Archform MCP server expose?

Archform exposes 3 tools: list_formats, render_diagram, validate_diagram. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 488 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Archform MCP server still maintained?

Archform is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 24 October 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Archform MCP server under?

Archform declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.
