## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-06.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Nothing on it is marked destructive, but we can't show that an anonymous caller can only read: full credit needs the server to list at least one tool and every tool to be verifiably read-only. We use a best-effort check of tool names and descriptions to tell read-only tools from tools that change things, so some genuinely read-only tools may not get full credit. Names that start with a read verb (get, list, read, search and similar) and accurate readOnlyHint annotations help. Meet that to earn full credit, or require authorisation.
  - HTTPS enforcement could not be verified: the plaintext port answered with HTTP 405, which proves neither a plaintext path nor enforcement.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 85/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 617 tokens (~88/item across 7 items; 5 tools + 2 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 97/100
  - Stability observed for 29 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 98/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 94% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 5 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 6 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

## MCP tools (5)

### `search_marketplace` (~285 tokens)

Search available marketplace product listings in Uganda so users can compare options. Supply complete alternate item phrases in synonyms (e.g. wedding dress and bridal gown for wedding gown). Relevant listings are ranked and capped; price bounds are in UGX. Results include original marketplace links; confirm current availability, condition and seller details there. Explicit price sorts return a single unscored page. For businesses or service providers instead, use search_businesses.

Input parameters:

- `max_fetch_pages` (integer): Maximum marketplace pages fetched
- `max_price` (integer): Maximum price in UGX
- `min_price` (integer): Minimum price in UGX
- `min_relevance_score` (integer): Minimum complete-phrase score; two-word phrases score at least 2
- `page` (integer)
- `query` (string, required): Item to search for, e.g. wedding gown
- `region` (string): Marketplace region slug, if known; omit rather than guessing a district-to-slug mapping
- `sort` (string): rel/new: newest-first with phrase ranking; price sorts: one unscored page
- `source` (string): Optional marketplace source identifier if supported; omit to use the default source
- `synonyms` (array): Complete alternative item phrases, e.g. ['wedding dress', 'bridal gown']
- `target_results` (integer): Maximum results returned

### `search_businesses` (~127 tokens)

Search the Muyiribi Uganda business directory by keyword, category, and/or district, and show the matches as a card list.

Input parameters:

- `category` (string): Exact category name from list_categories. Use it when the request fits a category. Optional.
- `district` (string): District name, e.g. Kampala
- `keyword` (string): Several plain words describing what is needed, e.g. 'tv lcd repair'. Any word can match; listings matching more words rank higher. Not a phrase.
- `limit` (integer): Number of results, 1 to 5

### `get_business` (~65 tokens)

Fetch full public details for one business listing by id, including contact info (phone, WhatsApp, email, website). Use the id returned by search_businesses.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string|number, required): Listing id, as returned by search_businesses (accepts string or number)

### `get_listing_signup_link` (~80 tokens)

Return the link for a Ugandan business owner to create a free listing in the Muyiribi directory. This tool does not create, edit, or verify any listing itself — the business owner completes signup and listing creation on the website. Use this whenever a business is not found in search results, or when a business owner asks how to get listed.

### `list_categories` (~29 tokens)

List every business category available in the directory, so a search can be narrowed to an exact category name.

## Common questions

### What is the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server?

Uganda Online Business Directory is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as io.github.domusdeiug/muyiribi. Search a Ugandan business directory for businesses and services by keyword, category, or district. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://ug-online.domus-dei-tech.workers.dev/mcp).

### Is the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server safe to use?

Uganda Online Business Directory scores 82 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server expose?

Uganda Online Business Directory exposes 5 tools: search_marketplace, search_businesses, get_business, get_listing_signup_link, list_categories. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 586 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Uganda Online Business Directory without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server still maintained?

Uganda Online Business Directory is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 6 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What did VerifyMCP test on the Uganda Online Business Directory MCP server?

VerifyMCP ran 13 checks on Uganda Online Business Directory, covering TLS certificate, Authorization, HSTS header, DNSSEC and 9 more. One item could not be completed, a gap on our side rather than a finding about Uganda Online Business Directory: HTTPS. Supply Chain Security and Provenance & Transparency do not apply to a hosted endpoint, so they were not tested. The score does not measure everything, and the scoring documentation lists what it leaves out.
