## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 75/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 406 tokens (~135/item across 3 items; 3 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 3/100
  - Stability observed for 1 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 75/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - 0 of 1 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation; "send_fax_link" implies "send" and declares readOnlyHint instead, contradicting what its own name says it does.
  - An AI judge read all 4 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (3)

### `find_fax_number` (~169 tokens)

Find a fax number

Finds the fax number of the IRS office that takes a form or a notice, from XipFax’s list of offices, read from the IRS’s own pages. Give the form or the notice by its name or number alone, such as Form 2848, SS-4 or CP2000. Where the IRS gives a number for each state, give the place too.

Input parameters:

- `form` (string, required): The form or notice by its name or number alone: Form 2848, SS-4, CP2000.
- `place` (string): Where the person lives, or where the business is, by its postal code, such as OH for Ohio or PR for Puerto Rico; APO-FPO for an APO or FPO address; ABROAD for anywhere outside the United States.

Output parameters:

- `choices` (array): choose: the offices to choose among, each saying for whom or what.
- `instead` (array): found: offices for what may apply instead, wherever one lives, each saying for whom.
- `note` (string): Why no one office answers, and where to find the number.
- `office` (object): found: the office the fax goes to.
- `question` (string): choose: what to ask to choose the office, such as where one lives.
- `result` (string): found: the office is known. choose: ask the question, then call again or pick a choice. none: no office on the list.

### `quote_fax` (~55 tokens)

Quote a fax

The price of sending one fax of a number of pages with XipFax, without a plan, from XipFax’s price list.

Input parameters:

- `pages` (integer, required): The pages to send, from 1 to 250.

Output parameters:

- `pages` (integer): The pages quoted.
- `price` (object): What the fax costs without a plan. A fax sent on the plan counts its pages there instead.
- `price_list` (string): The version of XipFax’s price list the quote is from.
- `price_shown` (string): The price as XipFax prints it: $4.99.
- `terms` (string): How the price is made, as XipFax’s pages say it: the first pages, then each page.

### `send_fax_link` (~111 tokens)

Link to send a fax

A link that opens XipFax’s send screen with the fax number filled in: an office by its office_id from find_fax_number, or a fax number in the United States, its territories or Canada. The person adds their pages there, signs in and pays.

Input parameters:

- `fax_number` (string): A fax number, with or without its +1: +1 202 555 0143.
- `office_id` (string): The office, as find_fax_number gives it.

Output parameters:

- `to` (string): Where the fax goes, as the link fills it in: the office, or the number.
- `url` (string): The link to XipFax’s send screen, with the number filled in.
