## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-17.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 82/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 946 tokens (~118/item across 8 items; 6 tools + 2 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 10/100
  - Stability observed for 3 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 6 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 8 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (6)

### `write_youtube_script` (~194 tokens)

Write a YouTube script

Start here for any Alpy script. Returns Alpy's YouTube scriptwriting brief, which you then follow to write the script yourself. Pass whichever of topic, length, character and tone the creator has already given; the brief asks for the rest. Reads nothing and changes nothing.

Input parameters:

- `character` (string): Narrating character: Hamster / Raccoon / Penguin / Bear / Frog / Cat / Monkey / Duck / Fox / Owl / Turtle / Rabbit / Stickman / Classic Stickman / Ancient Stickman / Gorilla / custom / none.
- `length` (string): Spoken length: 30s / 1m / 3m / 5m / 8m / 10m.
- `tone` (string): Tone: funny / viral / educational / storytelling / serious / choose for me.
- `topic` (string): What the video is about, if the creator has said.

Output parameters:

- `brief` (string): Alpy's scriptwriting brief. Follow it to write the script.

### `list_characters` (~57 tokens)

List characters

The characters an Alpy video can be drawn with: Alpy's own cast, and the creator's saved characters. Pass a character's id and source to create_video. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

Output parameters:

- `alpy` (array)
- `saved` (array)
- `tones` (array)
- `voices` (array)

### `create_video` (~220 tokens)

Make an Alpy video

Turns a script into a hand-drawn Alpy video narrated by an AI voice. The script is the spoken narration only, 110-2700 words (write it first with write_youtube_script if needed). Returns a video id; poll get_video every minute or so. Confirm the creator authorizes spending their existing minutes before calling. A creator with enough video minutes gets the full video straight away, which spends those minutes; otherwise their one free 10-second preview is made first. At most 10 a day. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

Input parameters:

- `captions` (boolean): Burn captions into the video. Cannot be removed afterwards.
- `character_id` (string, required): A character id from list_characters.
- `character_source` (string): Where that character is from, as list_characters says.
- `script` (string, required): The narration, exactly as it should be spoken.
- `tone` (string): Delivery id from list_characters.
- `voice` (string): AI voice id from list_characters.

Output parameters:

- `id` (string): The video id, for get_video.
- `image_url` (string|null): The character's drawing, as Alpy draws it. Show this, never a picture from elsewhere.
- `next` (string): What to do next, in words.
- `studio_url` (string)
- `title` (string)
- `words` (integer)

### `get_video` (~69 tokens)

Check an Alpy video

Where a video is: its status, progress, and, once made, links to the free preview and the finished video (valid for an hour). Says what to do next. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): The id create_video returned.

Output parameters:

- `id` (string)
- `image_url` (string|null): The character's drawing, as Alpy draws it. Show this, never a picture from elsewhere.
- `next` (string): What to do next, in words.
- `preview_url` (string|null): The free 10-second preview, valid for an hour.
- `progress` (number|null): 0 to 100.
- `seconds` (number|null): Length of the video.
- `status` (string): audio_ready, transcribing, character_selection, character_generating, plan_review, preview_generating, preview_ready, full_generating, ready or failed.
- `studio_url` (string)
- `title` (string|null)
- `video_url` (string|null): The finished MP4, valid for an hour.
- `working_on` (string|null)

### `list_videos` (~55 tokens)

List Alpy videos

The creator's most recent Alpy videos, newest first, with their status. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer): How many videos, newest first (1-25).

Output parameters:

- `videos` (array)

### `make_full_video` (~75 tokens)

Make the full Alpy video

After the free preview, makes the whole video. Spends the creator's video minutes (one per started minute of video), so confirm with them first. If they lack minutes it reports that the feature is unavailable. Needs a connected Alpy account or an Alpy API key.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): The video id.

Output parameters:

- `id` (string)
- `next` (string): What to do next, in words.
- `status` (string): audio_ready, transcribing, character_selection, character_generating, plan_review, preview_generating, preview_ready, full_generating, ready or failed.

## Common questions

### What is the Alpy MCP server?

Alpy is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.tryalpy/alpy. Turn a script into a hand-drawn animated YouTube video with an AI voice: writes it, then makes it. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://tryalpy.com/mcp).

### Is the Alpy MCP server safe to use?

Alpy scores 76 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Alpy MCP server expose?

Alpy exposes 6 tools: write_youtube_script, list_characters, create_video, get_video, list_videos, make_full_video. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 670 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Alpy MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Alpy without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Alpy MCP server still maintained?

Alpy is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 17 October 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
