## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 66/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation not fully verified: no authorisation is required to call this server, and 7 tool(s) never declared a destructiveHint. The MCP spec treats an absent hint as destructive by default, so we cannot call this surface safe.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC is configured correctly; the domain's records validate against the full chain to the root.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 74/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 869 tokens (~124/item across 7 items; 7 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 17/100
  - Stability observed for 5 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 7 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 8 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

### 2026-11-04 (score 70, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 10 to 13. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 3 days of observed history at the previous scan, 4 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

### 2026-11-02 (score 69, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

## MCP tools (7)

### `search_products` (~241 tokens)

Search PC components

Search tracked Amazon UK listings for CPUs, GPUs, RAM, motherboards and storage. Prices are in pence. Returns up to 10 results with current price, stock state, a product URL and buyUrl. Use this to answer "what does X cost" and "what is the cheapest Y". Give the user buyUrl when they want to buy: never rebuild an Amazon link from the ASIN.

Input parameters:

- `brand` (array): Restrict to one or more brands, e.g. ["Corsair"].
- `category` (array): Restrict to one or more categories. Storage spans hdd, ssd, nvme, external and usb.
- `limit` (integer): Maximum results to return (1-10).
- `maxPrice` (integer): Maximum current price in pence, e.g. 15000 for £150.
- `minPrice` (integer): Minimum current price in pence.
- `query` (string): Free-text match against the product name, e.g. "DDR5" or "RTX 5080".
- `sort` (string): Result ordering. Defaults to price_asc (cheapest first).

### `get_product` (~73 tokens)

Look up a product

Fetch one tracked product by its numeric ID: name, brand, current price in pence, stock state and rating. buyUrl is the link to give a user who wants to buy it; never rebuild an Amazon link from the ASIN. IDs come from search_products.

Input parameters:

- `id` (integer, required): Numeric product ID.

### `get_price_history` (~79 tokens)

Read price history

Recorded price points for a product over a trailing window, with minimum, maximum, average and the direction of travel. Use this to answer "is now a good time to buy" and "has this got cheaper".

Input parameters:

- `days` (integer): Trailing window in days. Defaults to 30.
- `id` (integer, required): Numeric product ID.

### `list_articles` (~38 tokens)

List buying guides

Index of published articles on UK component pricing and buying advice, most recent first.

Input parameters:

- `page` (integer): Page number, defaults to 1.

### `get_price_verdict` (~134 tokens)

Judge a price against its own history

Answer whether a tracked product is cheap right now, by its own recorded history rather than against other products. Returns the window low, high and mean in pence, how far above its low the current price sits, and an at-low or near-low verdict, plus buyUrl for a user who decides to buy. Below ten recorded prices no verdict is given and verdictAvailable is false: do not present the numbers as a judgement in that case. IDs come from search_products.

Input parameters:

- `days` (integer): Window to judge against, in days. Defaults to 90.
- `id` (integer, required): Numeric product ID.

### `get_best_value` (~148 tokens)

Best value storage and memory

Rank tracked storage by price per terabyte (unit "tb") or memory by price per gigabyte (unit "gb"), cheapest first. Unit prices are in pence. Each row carries its 90-day low, the number of recorded prices behind it, and an at-low or near-low verdict. The unit is required because the two scales cannot be compared.

Input parameters:

- `category` (array): Restrict to one or more categories within the chosen unit.
- `limit` (integer): Maximum results to return (1-10).
- `unit` (string, required): "tb" for storage (hdd, ssd, nvme, external, usb), "gb" for memory (ram).

### `get_price_index` (~111 tokens)

Read the component price index

Month-by-month price movement for a category of UK components, base 100 at the start of the series. Use to answer whether prices in a category are rising or falling. This describes a category, not an individual product: for one product use get_price_verdict. lastComputedAt says how fresh the answer is.

Input parameters:

- `category` (string): Category to read, e.g. "ram" or "gpu". Defaults to "all", the whole-catalogue series. The response lists availableCategories.
