## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation not fully verified: no authorisation is required to call this server, and 49 tool(s) never declared a destructiveHint. The MCP spec treats an absent hint as destructive by default, so we cannot call this surface safe.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 63/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 9227 tokens (~188/item across 49 items; 49 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 7/100
  - Stability observed for 2 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 99/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 98% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 75/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - 0 of 1 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation; "palanor_executive_pay" implies "pay" and declares no destructiveHint at all, which the MCP spec reads as destructive by default.
  - An AI judge read all 50 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (49)

### `palanor_list_signals` (~283 tokens)

List or search signals in the Palanor lattice — the unified map of every data source Palanor reads (FRED macro series, commodities, prediction markets, survey indices, Custom Indices). In Palanor, everything is a signal. Pass `query` to search by meaning and name ("are households falling behind", "UNRATE", "propane demand"); results come back most relevant first. Without `query`, signals are listed by slug and can be paged with `offset`.

Input parameters:

- `category` (string): Optional category filter (e.g. macro, labor, rates, energy, sentiment).
- `geo` (string): Optional geography: an ISO3 country code (USA, CAN, GBR, BRA) or a region (world, north-america, latam, europe, eu, euro-area, asia-pacific, mena, sub-saharan-africa, africa, asia, oceania, g7, g20,…
- `limit` (number): Max rows, 1–200 (default 50).
- `offset` (number): Rows to skip when listing without a query (default 0).
- `query` (string): Optional natural-language question, theme, name or identifier. Ranks results by relevance.

### `palanor_get_signal` (~146 tokens)

Input parameters:

- `history` (boolean): Include ~90 recent observations (default false).
- `slug` (string, required): Signal slug (from palanor_list_signals).
- `vintage` (string): latest (default): values as revised today. first: each observation as first published, before revisions (for major macro releases; available only where licensed for redistribution).

### `palanor_company_attention` (~199 tokens)

How much the public is looking at a company in the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 1000 and S&P MidCap 400: daily views of its English Wikipedia article (Wikimedia, user agents), matched through Wikidata by SEC CIK or ticker. Returns the 7-day average, its percentile against every 7-day stretch since January 2023, the ratio to the prior year, the busiest day in the last year, and the daily series. Pass `ticker` or `cik`. CC0 data; every result carries provenance. Attention is not sentiment: it says people are looking, not why.

Input parameters:

- `cik` (string): SEC CIK, e.g. 320193.
- `since` (string): Optional YYYY-MM-DD: first day of the daily series (default one year back).
- `ticker` (string): S&P 500 ticker, e.g. AAPL.

Hiring filings for one company in the S&P 500, Nasdaq-100, Russell 1000 and S&P MidCap 400 from U.S. Department of Labor disclosure data: certified H-1B Labor Condition Applications per quarter (intent to hire or retain a skilled foreign worker, not hires), positions, top job titles and occupations, median offered wage, primary worksite states, and PERM green-card labor certifications. Employer names are matched to the company and its subsidiaries exactly; unconfirmed names are excluded. Every quarter carries provenance.

Input parameters:

- `quarters` (number): Quarters of history, 1–40 (default 8).
- `ticker` (string, required): S&P 500 ticker (e.g. MSFT, AMZN) or SEC CIK.

### `palanor_get_global_yields` (~139 tokens)

Government bond yields across ~40 economies in one call: the latest 10-year yield per country (daily for the UK, Japan and Australia from the Bank of England, Japan's Ministry of Finance and the RBA; monthly averages from the OECD elsewhere), a short tenor where published, the change over a year, and derived spreads (Italy–Germany, France–Germany, Japan and Australia 2s10s, the median across 23 advanced economies). Values in percent per year. Every value carries provenance; full history per series via palanor_get_signal with the returned slug.

Input parameters:

- `region` (string): Optional region filter.

### `palanor_get_commodity_prices` (~127 tokens)

World Bank monthly commodity prices (the Pink Sheet, CC BY 4.0): 44 commodities (energy, cocoa and coffee, vegetable oils, rice, sugar, meat, cotton, rubber, fertilizers, aluminium, iron ore, tin, gold, platinum …) and the 9 World Bank price indices (2010 = 100). Latest monthly average in nominal US dollars, the change over a year, unit and provenance. Full history via palanor_get_signal.

Input parameters:

- `group` (string): Optional group filter; "index" returns only the World Bank indices.

### `palanor_get_world_share_prices` (~137 tokens)

Stock markets around the world in one call: the OECD monthly share price index (2015 = 100, CC BY 4.0) for 47 economies and the euro area with its change over a year (local currency, price only), plus Palanor's daily composites of every company listed in Taiwan (cap-weighted from the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Taipei Exchange open data, 21 Oct 2026 = 100) once published. Not exchange index levels (those are licensed by their owners). Full history per series via palanor_get_signal with the slug.

Input parameters:

- `region` (string): Optional region filter.

### `palanor_get_embed_code` (~199 tokens)

Get the embed code for a live Palanor chart of one signal or Custom Index: an iframe that renders the series with its source line, license and a link back to its methodology page. Use it when a user wants to put a Palanor chart on a web page, blog post or dashboard. Only charts whose data may be redistributed embed (public-domain and openly licensed sources, Palanor-derived series, public Custom Indices); market prices never do, and the result says why when a chart cannot be embedded.

Input parameters:

- `index` (string): Custom Index slug, with or without the palanor_ prefix (e.g. consumer_health).
- `range` (string): Time window shown (default 5y).
- `signal` (string): Signal slug (e.g. rates.spread_2y10y). Pass this or `index`.
- `theme` (string): Colour theme; auto follows the reader's setting (default).

### `palanor_create_chart` (~293 tokens)

Render a Palanor Studio chart (PNG) of 1–4 public signals — the same brand-locked chart, verification and licence checks the Studio uses. Asynchronous: returns a job id; call palanor_get_chart until status is "done" (typically under a minute), then use the image URL. Numbers are never typed: omit `claim` for a default, or write one with tokens such as "{{a.last|1}}" (a = first signal, b = second…; also .first, .min, .max, .change, .as_of, .first_x, .last_x). A digit written into `claim` fails verification. Only redistributable signals chart; market prices (equities, ETFs, crypto, FX) do not. Allowance: Free 10 a month, Pro 25 a day, Enterprise 200 a day.

Input parameters:

- `claim` (string): The headline sentence, numbers as tokens only.
- `does_not_say` (string): Finishes "What it does not say: …".
- `formats` (array): single (default) and/or square.
- `from` (string): YYYY-MM-DD. Default five years back.
- `kind` (string)
- `signals` (array, required): Signals to plot, in order (a, b, c, d).
- `to` (string): YYYY-MM-DD. Default latest.

### `palanor_get_chart` (~76 tokens)

Status of a chart started with palanor_create_chart; checking does not count against your monthly requests. When status is "done" it returns the PNG URL(s), the resolved headline, the licence attribution lines to print with it, and the values charted.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): Job id from palanor_create_chart.

### `palanor_get_observations` (~261 tokens)

A signal's observations between two dates from the Palanor lattice, oldest first, up to 1,000 per call (page with `offset` while `pagination.has_more`). Use it for a series over a set window, e.g. the 2y10y Treasury spread since 2020; palanor_get_signal gives the latest value and its context. Every result carries the provenance block of the signal's source.

Input parameters:

- `agg` (string): How a period becomes one value (default last: the closing reading).
- `end` (string): Optional YYYY-MM-DD, inclusive.
- `freq` (string): Optional: one value per period, dated the period's last day. Omit for every observation.
- `limit` (number): Rows, 1–1000 (default 500).
- `offset` (number): Rows to skip (default 0).
- `order` (string): asc (default) or desc.
- `slug` (string, required): Signal slug (from palanor_list_signals).
- `start` (string): Optional YYYY-MM-DD, inclusive.
- `vintage` (string): latest (default): values as revised today. first: each observation as first published (available only where licensed for redistribution).

### `palanor_get_foresight` (~205 tokens)

Palanor Foresight™ for one signal: the projected value at a horizon with a band that holds about two in three outcomes, and the projected path. The horizon depends on the series: 30 days for daily to monthly data, 1 year for quarterly, 3 years for annual. `method` is the disclosure printed under Palanor charts: the blend and the related signals it reads. A source's own published forecast is not projected again. Pro and Enterprise keys. Requires a Pro or Enterprise key.

Input parameters:

- `horizon` (string): Optional: days ("30"), a span ("30d", "12w", "6m", "1y") or a date (YYYY-MM-DD). Default: the full horizon.
- `path` (boolean): Include the whole projected path (default false: the value at the horizon only).
- `slug` (string, required): Signal slug (from palanor_search_signals or palanor_list_signals).

### `palanor_search_signals` (~106 tokens)

Find signals in the Palanor lattice by meaning and keywords, e.g. "yield curve", "used car prices", "Canada unemployment". Returns only signals the API serves, each with its slug, latest value and source, so every slug works in palanor_get_signal and palanor_get_observations.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (number): Results, 1–50 (default 10).
- `q` (string, required): What to look for (two characters or more).

### `palanor_get_latest` (~67 tokens)

The latest reading of up to 100 signals in one call, each with its provenance. A slug the API does not serve comes back with an error instead of a value. Costs one request per ten slugs, rounded up.

Input parameters:

- `slugs` (array, required): Signal slugs.

### `palanor_list_screens` (~48 tokens)

The saved Entity Screener screens this key's owner can run: their own, those shared with their organization, and Palanor's house screens. Ids feed palanor_run_screen.

### `palanor_run_screen` (~135 tokens)

Run a saved Entity Screener screen (companies, investors, funds or deals from SEC Form D, EDGAR, Form ADV, USPTO and USAspending) with its saved filters and columns. Each row links its primary-source filing and its Palanor page. Adviser and fund rows carry the BrokerCheck notice, which must travel with them. Requires a Pro or Enterprise key.

Input parameters:

- `id` (string, required): Saved screen id (from palanor_list_screens).
- `limit` (number): Rows, 1–1000 (default 100).
- `offset` (number): Rows to skip (default 0).

### `palanor_search_documents` (~255 tokens)

Search SEC filings and Federal Reserve publications by meaning and get the matching passages, verbatim: S&P 500 earnings releases (8-K Exhibit 99), 10-K Item 1A risk factors, 10-Q Item 2 MD&A, other 8-K exhibits, the Beige Book, FOMC statements and minutes, and Fed speeches. Each passage comes with company, date, document type, a link that opens it highlighted in the Palanor reader, and provenance. Public-domain documents only; earnings call transcripts are not included.

Input parameters:

- `doc_types` (array): Optional document types. release = earnings release, risk_factors = 10-K Item 1A, mda = 10-Q MD&A.
- `limit` (number): Passages to return, 1–20 (default 8).
- `query` (string, required): What to find, in plain words (e.g. "data center capex outlook", "tariff cost headwinds").
- `since` (string): Optional earliest date, YYYY-MM-DD.
- `ticker` (string): Optional S&P 500 ticker, or FED for Federal Reserve documents.
- `until` (string): Optional latest date, YYYY-MM-DD.

## Common questions

### What is the Palanor MCP server?

Palanor is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.palanor/mcp. Read the Palanor lattice: 50,000+ economic signals, Custom Indices, Currents and the Wire. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://mcp.palanor.com).

### Is the Palanor MCP server safe to use?

Palanor scores 64 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Palanor MCP server expose?

Palanor exposes 49 tools: palanor_list_signals, palanor_get_signal, palanor_list_indices, palanor_get_index, palanor_list_currents, and 44 more. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 9,091 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Palanor MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Palanor without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Palanor MCP server still maintained?

Palanor is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
