## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 72/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 447 tokens (~223/item across 2 items; 2 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 3/100
  - Stability observed for 1 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 2 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 2 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

Docling by pagespool is a hosted endpoint at https://api.pagespool.com/mcp/docling/, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## MCP tools (2)

### `convert_document` (~312 tokens)

Convert a document to Markdown with Docling

Convert a document up to 25 MB and 200 pages to Markdown with Docling:
OCR, tables, headings and reading order.

Pass the file as base64 in `content_base64`, or as a download link in
\`file`, and its name in `filename`. Returns `task_id` and `task_status`.
Call `get_conversion` with the `task_id` until `task_status` is `success`
or `failure`; a long PDF can take several minutes.

Costs 1 credit per PDF page converted (2 with `force_ocr`) and 10 credits
per other file, refunded if the conversion fails. Requires an API key.
The file is deleted when the conversion ends; the result is kept for
7 days.

Input parameters:

- `content_base64`: The file content, base64-encoded. Up to 25 MB before encoding.
- `file` (object): The file as a download link, instead of `content_base64`. In ChatGPT, pass the user's uploaded file here. Other clients can set `download_url` to a public https URL.
- `filename` (string, required): The file name with its extension, such as report.pdf. Docling reads PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, HTML, Markdown, CSV and images.
- `force_ocr` (boolean): Replace a PDF's text layer with OCR text. Doubles the price of a PDF.
- `page_range`: Optional. [first, last] pages to convert, 1-based.

### `get_conversion` (~135 tokens)

Check a Docling conversion

Check a conversion you started with `convert_document`.

Returns `task_id` and `task_status` (`pending`, `started`, `success` or
\`failure`). On `success` it includes the `markdown` when it is under
100 KB, otherwise a `result_url` to download the full result with your
API key (free). On `failure` it includes `error`, one sentence with the
reason. Results are deleted 7 days after submission. Requires an API key.

Credits: free. This tool is not metered.

Input parameters:

- `task_id` (string, required): The task_id returned by convert_document.
