## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 72/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1054 tokens (~175/item across 6 items; 6 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 10/100
  - Stability observed for 3 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 6 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 7 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

### 2026-11-04 (score 74, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

### 2026-11-03 (score 73, 0)

- [functional improvement] Stability: unverified → 0.03

### 2026-11-02 (score 73)

## MCP tools (6)

### `search_camps` (~386 tokens)

Search kids' camps (DC/MD/VA area)

Search kids' camp sessions in the Washington DC / Maryland / Virginia area by location, dates, ages, categories, and price. Location is required: pass a 5-digit ZIP code (or lat+lon, or city+state). With start_date/end_date, results are individual sessions (10 per page); without dates, results are one representative upcoming session per camp location (result_grain says which). Each result includes prices in US dollars, registration_status, data_freshness (how recently the listing was verified), and a canonical kiddinglab.com URL.

Input parameters:

- `ages` (array): Children's ages to match, e.g. [7, 9].
- `categories` (array): Filter by category names. Unknown categories are ignored.
- `city` (string): City name as an alternative location (use with state), e.g. "Arlington".
- `end_date` (string): Latest session end date (YYYY-MM-DD).
- `future_only` (boolean): Only sessions that have not yet ended (default true). Set false to also include recently ended past-season programs — useful for "did they run this last year" questions.
- `lat` (number): Latitude (use with lon instead of zip).
- `lon` (number): Longitude (use with lat instead of zip).
- `max_price_usd` (number): Maximum session price in US dollars.
- `page` (integer): Result page (10 results per page, max page 100).
- `radius_miles` (number): Search radius in miles (default 15, max 50).
- `start_date` (string): Earliest session start date (YYYY-MM-DD).
- `state` (string): Two-letter state code (use with city), e.g. "VA".
- `zip` (string): 5-digit US ZIP code to search around. Provide zip OR lat+lon.

### `find_camp_by_name` (~100 tokens)

Find a camp by name

Look up camps by camp or organization name when the parent already knows (roughly) what the camp is called. Tolerates misspellings. Returns matching camps ranked by similarity — use get_camp_details on a result for sessions, prices, and availability. For discovery by area, use search_camps instead.

Input parameters:

- `name` (string, required): Camp or organization name (or part of one), e.g. "Steve and Kate's".

### `get_camp_details` (~107 tokens)

Get camp details

Get the full profile of one camp: description, organizer, parent rating, and its sessions with dates, prices (US dollars), registration_status, and bookability. Sessions from the last 12 months are included — check session_status (ended/in_progress/upcoming) before recommending. data_freshness says how recently the listing was verified. Use the camp_id returned by search_camps.

Input parameters:

- `camp_id` (integer, required): The kiddinglab camp_id (from search_camps results).

### `get_sessions_and_availability` (~86 tokens)

Check live availability & pricing for sessions

Check live bookability, pricing (US dollars), remaining spots, and refund policy for up to 20 sessions at once. Sessions marked listing_only are booked on the camp's own website (registration_url) rather than on kiddinglab.com.

Input parameters:

- `sess_ids` (array, required): 1-20 session ids (sess_id values from search_camps or get_camp_details).

### `get_booking_policies` (~70 tokens)

Get booking, refund & payment policies

Get the refund policy, payment schedule, waiver requirement, and platform payment facts for one session. Parents review, sign, and pay on kiddinglab.com — assistants only prepare the choice.

Input parameters:

- `sess_id` (integer, required): The session id (sess_id from search_camps or get_camp_details).

### `create_booking_handoff` (~115 tokens)

Create a checkout link for the parent

Create a prefilled checkout link for 1-6 bookable sessions and share it with the parent. This is a shopping-list prefill, NOT a reservation: no spots are held, and the parent signs in, names their campers, signs waivers, and pays on kiddinglab.com. Never include child names or other personal information. The link expires in 24 hours.

Input parameters:

- `items` (array, required): 1-6 sessions to prefill into the parent checkout. No PII — session ids and counts only.

## Common questions

### What is the kiddinglab MCP server?

kiddinglab is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.kiddinglab/kiddinglab. Search DC/MD/VA kids' camps: dates, prices, ages, live availability, checkout links. Parents pay. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://www.kiddinglab.com/mcp).

### Is the kiddinglab MCP server safe to use?

kiddinglab scores 74 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the kiddinglab MCP server expose?

kiddinglab exposes 6 tools: search_camps, find_camp_by_name, get_camp_details, get_sessions_and_availability, get_booking_policies, create_booking_handoff. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 864 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the kiddinglab MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to kiddinglab without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the kiddinglab MCP server still maintained?
