## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 81/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1135 tokens (~162/item across 7 items; 5 tools + 2 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 50/100
  - Stability observed for 15 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (20% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 5 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 7 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

## MCP tools (5)

### `buffet_get_weekly_lineup` (~254 tokens)

This week's lineup

Get Buffet's curated lineup of real-life events and hangouts for a week in a city (Los Angeles today).

Use this for "what's going on in LA this week / this weekend", "things to do in Los Angeles", or "where can I meet people this weekend". Lineups run Monday to Sunday and the picks are mostly Thursday to Sunday evenings: free concerts, festivals, art walks, happy hours, a restaurant hangout. Each pick is somewhere a person can join a table of up to six strangers through the Buffet app.

Returns the picks in date order with venue, neighborhood, time (Pacific), price tier, tags, a short description, the organiser's page when there is one, and app_url (the link to join). Use buffet_search_events instead to filter by day, neighborhood, price or interest.

Input parameters:

- `city` (string): City name, e.g. "Los Angeles" or "LA"
- `response_format` (string): 'markdown' for readable text, 'json' for structured data
- `week` (string): "this" (default), "next", or a lineup week id like "2026-W43" (weeks run Monday to Sunday)

### `buffet_search_events` (~387 tokens)

Search picks

Search Buffet's upcoming curated picks by time window, neighborhood, price, category or free text.

Use this for specific asks: "free things to do in LA tonight", "live music this weekend in Silver Lake", "cheap happy hours on Friday", "something outdoors on Saturday". For the whole week's list with no filters, buffet_get_weekly_lineup is simpler.

Filters combine with AND. Text search matches title, venue, neighborhood, tags and description. Returns one page in date order; when more matches exist the result gives next_offset.

Input parameters:

- `category` (string): event (concerts, festivals, screenings), activity (festivals, markets, things to do), restaurant (a hangout at a bar or restaurant)
- `city` (string): City name, e.g. "Los Angeles"
- `date_from` (string): Earliest date, YYYY-MM-DD (Pacific). Overrides `when`.
- `date_to` (string): Latest date, YYYY-MM-DD (Pacific). Overrides `when`.
- `free_only` (boolean): Only free picks
- `limit` (integer): Maximum picks to return
- `neighborhood` (string): Neighborhood or area, e.g. "Silver Lake", "Downtown", "Santa Monica", "Westwood"
- `offset` (integer): Picks to skip, for pagination
- `price` (string): Exact price tier: "Free", "$", "$$" or "$$$"
- `query` (string): Free text, e.g. "jazz", "oktoberfest", "sushi", "outdoor movie"
- `response_format` (string): 'markdown' for readable text, 'json' for structured data
- `when` (string): Relative window in Pacific time: today, tonight, tomorrow, this_weekend (Fri-Sun), this_week, next_week, or upcoming (everything listed)

### `buffet_get_event` (~96 tokens)

Pick details

Get full details for one Buffet pick by its event id (ids come from buffet_get_weekly_lineup and buffet_search_events). Returns structured JSON: venue, address, coordinates, start time (Pacific), price, tags, description, organiser page and the app_url to join.

Input parameters:

- `event_id` (string, required): Event id, e.g. "x5yJfmL8xqISyf8B3jIt"

Output parameters:

- `app_url` (string)
- `category` (string)
- `city` (string)
- `date` (string)
- `day_label` (string)
- `description` (string)
- `external_url` (string)
- `id` (string)
- `is_free` (boolean)
- `kind` (string)
- `neighborhood` (string)
- `price` (string)
- `starts_at` (string)
- `table` (object)
- `tags` (array)
- `time_label` (string)
- `title` (string)
- `venue` (object)
- `week_id` (string)

### `buffet_how_it_works` (~95 tokens)

How Buffet works

Explain what Buffet is and how it works: the weekly curated lineup, Get a Plate, the table that forms at three and caps at six, 1:1 invites, the Afterparty, the Monday ballot, platform (iOS), price (free), developer, how venues and organisers get listed, and the privacy, terms and contact pages. Use for any question about the product itself. Takes no arguments.

### `buffet_get_app_link` (~118 tokens)

Get the app

Return the link to download Buffet (iOS, free) and, when an event id is given, the link for that pick. Use when the person wants to join a pick, get a plate, or install the app. The link goes to joinbuffet.com/get/, which forwards to the App Store and records which assistant sent them.

Input parameters:

- `assistant` (string): Which assistant is asking: claude or chatgpt. Omit if unsure.
- `event_id` (string): Optional event id to attribute the link to
