## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 97/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation is enforced on tool calls, advertised via RFC 9728 protected-resource metadata. Discovery is public, which costs nothing: no tool can be invoked without a token.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
  - The authorisation server supports Client ID Metadata Documents, the current MCP client-registration mechanism.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 69/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 2387 tokens (~68/item across 35 items; 35 tools + 0 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 100/100
  - No destabilizing schema changes in the last 30 days.
- **Tool Coverage**: 67/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 0% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - All 2 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation.
  - An AI judge read all 36 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

## MCP tools (35)

### `foliade_account` (~27 tokens)

Check the connected Foliade account

Confirms the address and the plan of the destination account, without secrets or payment data.

### `foliade_list_catalogues` (~40 tokens)

List the Foliade catalogues

Lists the private and public catalogues of the connected account, with pagination.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer)
- `offset` (integer)

### `foliade_prepare_upload` (~132 tokens)

Prepare the private upload of a PDF

Creates a single-use 10-minute deposit. Compute the size and the SHA-256 of the local PDF.

Transfer the bytes to upload_url with PUT, Content-Type application/pdf,
with the headers returned. Do not publish these headers in your reply.
This ticket allows no reading and is not an API key for the account.

Input parameters:

- `filename` (string, required)
- `guest_mode` (boolean)
- `language` (string)
- `notice_version` (string)
- `sha256` (string, required)
- `size_bytes` (integer, required)
- `title` (string)

### `foliade_import_url` (~144 tokens)

Import a PDF from a public link

Fetches a PDF that is already online and prepares it as a private draft.

Use this when the user gives a link, or when your host hands you an
attachment as a download URL rather than a local file. For a file on the
    user's machine, use foliade_prepare_upload instead.

Only public https links are accepted, and the server checks that the link
really returns a PDF. Call foliade_finalize_upload next with the upload_id.

Input parameters:

- `guest_mode` (boolean)
- `language` (string)
- `notice_version` (string)
- `title` (string)
- `url` (string, required)

### `foliade_finalize_upload` (~76 tokens)

Convert the uploaded PDF into a draft

Finalises an upload that has been received. A repeat returns the same catalogue, never a duplicate.

Conversion is asynchronous: check foliade_catalogue_status before
giving the final result. The catalogue stays private until it is published explicitly.

Input parameters:

- `guest_token` (string)
- `upload_id` (string, required)

### `foliade_catalogue_status` (~42 tokens)

Check the conversion and the state of a catalogue

Private state: owner OAuth or guest token, never the public link alone.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `guest_token` (string)

### `foliade_publish_catalogue` (~65 tokens)

Publish an existing Foliade draft

Makes the catalogue public, on explicit request only. Keeps its identifier.

It does not change the password or the addresses: those belong to
    foliade_set_catalogue_access.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `guest_token` (string)

### `foliade_catalogue_stats` (~41 tokens)

Read the statistics of a catalogue

Aggregated statistics: reads and contacts, without disclosing the contact details.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `days` (integer)

### `foliade_unpublish_catalogue` (~43 tokens)

Unpublish a Foliade catalogue

Closes the public link without deleting the data. Requires an explicit request.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `guest_token` (string)

### `foliade_capabilities` (~67 tokens)

Discover the MCP settings, entitlements and schemas

Effective entitlements, JSON schemas and examples. Read before configuring; omitted fields are kept, null is refused.

Setting changes are visible immediately on a published catalogue.
Binary media, PDF replacements, API keys, REST webhooks, team and billing stay in the workspace/API.

### `foliade_get_catalogue_settings` (~40 tokens)

Read every reader and catalogue setting

Settings, table of contents, lead capture, protection without secrets, and the revision needed for changes.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)

### `foliade_update_catalogue` (~99 tokens)

Change the reader and the metadata

Changes only the fields supplied: colours, bar, controls, sound, reading, logo, title, language, PDF.

It never touches the table of contents, which belongs to foliade_set_chapters.

dry_run returns a preview without writing. No change to the publication state.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)
- `patch` (required)

### `foliade_set_catalogue_access` (~122 tokens)

Set the catalogue protection and addresses

Changes access on explicit request only. Never publishes a draft. The password is never returned.

This tool sets the password and the addresses; to make a draft public, use foliade_publish_catalogue.

Declaring a domain does not configure DNS/TLS; activation remains a separate operation.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `domaine`
- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)
- `password` (string)
- `protection` (string)
- `sous_domaine`

### `foliade_set_lead_capture` (~65 tokens)

Configure the lead capture form

Sets activation, page, blocking mode, fields and consent. A plan with lead capture is required; email is mandatory.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)
- `patch` (required)

### `foliade_set_chapters` (~80 tokens)

Configure the catalogue table of contents

Replaces the table of contents with the ordered list supplied; an empty list removes it.

Only the table of contents: every other reader setting stays with foliade_update_catalogue.

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `chapters` (array, required)
- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)

### `foliade_import_chapters` (~48 tokens)

Input parameters:

- `catalogue_id` (string, required)
- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)

### `foliade_get_brand` (~24 tokens)

Read the account brand settings

Brand name, colour and default PDF download; without any billing information.

### `foliade_update_brand` (~55 tokens)

Change the account brand settings

Account-wide impact: use it when a global customisation is asked for, prefer update_catalogue for a single PDF.

Input parameters:

- `dry_run` (boolean)
- `expected_revision` (string, required)
- `patch` (required)

### `foliade_list_themes` (~44 tokens)

List the saved brand themes

Account themes, their settings and revisions; a theme is a copy, not a live link.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer)
- `offset` (integer)

## Common questions

### What is the Foliade MCP server?

Foliade is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.gekkode/foliade. Turn PDFs into mobile flipbook catalogues: upload private drafts, customise, publish, get stats. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://foliade.gekkode.com/mcp).

### Is the Foliade MCP server safe to use?

Foliade scores 91 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Foliade MCP server expose?

Foliade exposes 35 tools: foliade_account, foliade_list_catalogues, foliade_prepare_upload, foliade_import_url, foliade_finalize_upload, and 30 more. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 2,178 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Foliade MCP server require authentication?

Yes. Foliade asked us for credentials when we connected, so you will need to authorise it in your MCP client before it can do anything.

### Is the Foliade MCP server still maintained?

Foliade is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
