## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS check failed: the endpoint is reachable over plaintext HTTP.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 86/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 1025 tokens (~102/item across 10 items; 4 tools + 6 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 10/100
  - Stability observed for 3 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 6 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

## Install

### How do I install the Meridian MCP server?

Meridian is a hosted endpoint at https://meridian.clawhard.com/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## MCP tools (4)

### `meridian_now` (~116 tokens)

Current time in any places or time zones

Use when you need to know what time or date it is right now somewhere. You have no clock of your own, so never guess the current time. Returns the real current time, date, UTC offset, abbreviation and daylight saving status for each place. Places can be cities ("Tokyo"), IANA zones ("Europe/Paris"), abbreviations ("PST") or "UTC+5:30".

Input parameters:

- `places` (array, required): Cities, IANA zones or abbreviations, e.g. ["London","Asia/Tokyo"].

### `meridian_convert_time` (~282 tokens)

Convert a time between time zones, DST-correct

Use when you need to convert a specific wall-clock time from one place to others, for any date. It uses the real tz database, so daylight saving is right for that exact date (the US and Europe switch on different weeks), and it warns when the time does not exist (spring forward) or happens twice (fall back). Time accepts "15:00", "3:30pm", "noon", "now" or an ISO local time like 2026-11-05T15:00 (no Z). Date defaults to today in the source zone. Returns {input, utc, source:{...}, converted:[{place, zone, local, time_12h, date, utc_offset, abbreviation, day_note, hours_ahead_of_source}], warning?, summary, open_url}.

Input parameters:

- `date` (string): Optional date YYYY-MM-DD in the source zone. Default today.
- `from` (string, required): Source place or zone, e.g. "New York" or "America/New_York".
- `time` (string, required): Local time in the source place, e.g. "15:00", "3:30pm", "noon", "now", "2026-11-05T15:00".
- `to` (array, required): Destination places, e.g. ["London","Tokyo"].

### `meridian_meeting_slots` (~219 tokens)

Find meeting times that work across time zones

Use when you need to schedule a call across several places. Scans the day in 15-minute steps and ranks start times so the most people are inside working hours and nobody is at night, using each place's real offset and DST for that date. Returns up to 5 slots with each person's local start and end, and says plainly when no time works for everyone. Defaults: working hours 9 to 17, 60 minutes, date today in the first place.

Input parameters:

- `count` (integer): How many slots to return, default 5.
- `date` (string): Date YYYY-MM-DD, local to the first place. Default today.
- `duration_minutes` (integer): Meeting length in minutes, multiple of 15. Default 60.
- `end_hour` (integer): Working day end hour, default 17.
- `places` (array, required): Where each attendee is, e.g. ["San Francisco","London","Tokyo"].
- `start_hour` (integer): Working day start hour, default 9.

### `meridian_zone_info` (~135 tokens)

Offset, abbreviation and daylight saving changes for a zone

Use when you need to answer "what is the UTC offset of X", "does X observe daylight saving" and "when do the clocks change". Returns the current offset and abbreviation, whether the place observes DST, every clock change in the year with exact local before and after times, and the next change. Abbreviations like IST or CST are ambiguous, so the answer says which zone was used.

Input parameters:

- `place` (string, required): City, IANA zone or abbreviation, e.g. "London" or "America/Phoenix".
- `year` (integer): Year to list clock changes for. Default this year.

## Common questions

### What is the Meridian MCP server?

Meridian is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.clawhard/meridian. Convert times between zones with daylight saving right, see who is awake, find meeting slots. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://meridian.clawhard.com/mcp).

### Is the Meridian MCP server safe to use?

Meridian scores 70 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Meridian MCP server expose?

Meridian exposes 4 tools: meridian_now, meridian_convert_time, meridian_meeting_slots, meridian_zone_info. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 752 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Meridian MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Meridian without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Meridian MCP server still maintained?

Meridian is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
