## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 74/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 61/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 2777 tokens (~185/item across 15 items; 15 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 17/100
  - Stability observed for 5 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 97/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 92% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 15 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 16 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (15)

### `get_spot_prices` (~38 tokens)

Get spot prices

Live gold, silver and platinum spot prices in USD per troy ounce, with the time each was read and the gold-silver ratio.

### `list_products` (~75 tokens)

List tracked products

List the bullion products Bullion Price Check tracks (slug, name, metal, troy oz) with today's lowest listed dealer price for each. Use a slug with get_dealer_prices. This is the complete list: a product that is not listed is not tracked.

Input parameters:

- `metal` (string): Only list products of this metal.

### `get_dealer_prices` (~190 tokens)

Get dealer prices for a product

Current listed dealer prices for one tracked product, lowest first. Sorted by price only: dealers marked "Partner" pay to list and are never ranked by anything but price. Only prices checked in the last 24 hours are returned. If the product is not tracked, it returns an error that names the closest tracked products; it never substitutes a different size or weight.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer): Maximum number of dealers to return.
- `payment` (string): bank = check/ACH/wire price (default); card = the dealer's listed credit card price.
- `product` (string, required): Product slug from list_products (for example american-silver-eagle-1oz) or a name with its weight, such as "1 oz silver eagle". A name only matches a product of the same weight. If the product is not…

### `melt_value` (~138 tokens)

Melt value calculator

Melt (metal) value of any gold, silver or platinum item at live spot: weight x purity x spot. Weight in troy oz, grams, kilograms or pennyweight.

Input parameters:

- `metal` (string, required)
- `purity` (number): Metal fineness as a fraction, for example 0.999, 0.9167 (22k), 0.925 (sterling), 0.90 (US 90% coins).
- `unit` (string): ozt = troy ounce, g = gram, kg = kilogram, dwt = pennyweight.
- `weight` (number, required): Gross weight of the item.

### `junk_silver_melt` (~168 tokens)

Junk silver melt calculator

Silver content and melt value of US junk silver coins by face value: 90% (pre-1965 dimes, quarters, halves), 40% (1965-1970 Kennedy halves or Eisenhower dollars) or 35% (1942-1945 war nickels). For 90% coins it also shows the 0.715 oz worn-coin figure and today's lowest dealer ask per $1 face.

Input parameters:

- `coin_type` (string): 90 = 90% silver; 40 = 40% Kennedy halves; 40_eisenhower = 40% Eisenhower dollars; 35 = 35% war nickels.
- `face_value` (number, required): Total face value in US dollars, for example 10 for $10 face.

### `premium_over_spot` (~156 tokens)

Premium over spot checker

Premium over spot for a price you were quoted. Give a tracked product slug to also see where the price sits against today's lowest, median and highest listed dealer prices, or give metal and weight for any item.

Input parameters:

- `metal` (string): Use with weight_ozt when the item is not a tracked product.
- `payment` (string): Which dealer price list to compare with (tracked products only).
- `price` (number, required): Price quoted for one item, in USD.
- `product` (string): Tracked product slug or name with its weight (see list_products). A name only matches a product of the same weight.
- `weight_ozt` (number): Pure metal content in troy ounces (use with metal).

### `true_cost` (~235 tokens)

True cost calculator

Delivered cost of a bullion order. Mode 1: give price (per item), quantity, shipping and a payment fee to get the all-in total. Mode 2: give a tracked product and quantity (no price) to rank dealers by delivered total using each dealer's published shipping and payment fees.

Input parameters:

- `payment` (string): Mode 2: pay by check/ACH/wire (bank) or credit card.
- `payment_fee_pct` (number): Mode 1: payment method fee as a percent of the item total (for example 3.5 for a card surcharge).
- `payment_fee_usd` (number): Mode 1: flat payment fee in USD (for example a wire fee).
- `price` (number): Mode 1: price per item in USD.
- `product` (string): Tracked product slug or name with its weight (see list_products). Mode 2 when price is not given; in mode 1 it adds per-ounce cost and premium.
- `quantity` (integer)
- `shipping` (number): Mode 1: shipping charge for the whole order in USD.

### `gold_silver_ratio` (~53 tokens)

Gold-silver ratio

Live gold-silver ratio (ounces of silver one ounce of gold buys at spot), with an optional ounce converter.

Input parameters:

- `amount_ozt` (number): Troy ounces to convert.
- `direction` (string)

### `scrap_gold_value` (~132 tokens)

Scrap gold calculator

Full melt value of scrap gold or jewelry by karat and weight at live gold spot (karat/24, with 24k at 99.9%). Optionally give an offer to see what share of melt it is.

Input parameters:

- `karat` (number, required): Gold karat, for example 10, 14, 18, 22 or 24.
- `offer_usd` (number): Optional offer you received, to compare with melt.
- `unit` (string): g = gram, dwt = pennyweight, ozt = troy ounce.
- `weight` (number, required)

### `get_premium_index` (~52 tokens)

Bullion Premium Index

Current Bullion Premium Index: for each tracked product, the lowest premium over spot today, the dealer median premium and the 7-day median and minimum of the lowest premium.

Input parameters:

- `metal` (string)

### `product_spec` (~166 tokens)

Coin and bar spec lookup

Official specs for a coin or bar: mint, country, fineness, gross and fine weight, pure metal content, denomination and series, with the source for each row and a fine-weight recompute check (gross x purity / 31.1034768). Covers the tracked products plus spec-only coins (pre-1933 $20/$10/$5 gold, Morgan and Peace dollars, PAMP 20 g and 10 g bars). Unknown fields, IRA eligibility and 1099-B reportability come back null and are listed in missing; nothing is estimated.

Input parameters:

- `product` (string, required): Tracked slug or name with weight (see list_products), or a spec-only sku/name such as morgan-dollar, "$20 double eagle" or "pamp 20g".

### `quote` (~609 tokens)

Dealer buy/sell quote from spot

Price a dealer ticket from spot. Two classes: bullion (a tracked product) and scrap (weight + unit + karat or purity; purity is applied once). Buy offers use labeled default tiers as % of melt (bullion: conservative 96, target 97.5, aggressive 98.5; scrap: 90, 93, 95) or your own offer_pct; sell quotes use your margin rule: melt x (1 + margin_pct/100) + margin_usd. Returns unit and total (totals rounded once, from the unrounded unit), expiry, the spot used (spot_source, spot_asof), sell-side market percentiles and, for bullion buy offers, published dealer buyback bids as an anonymous benchmark (percentiles and counts only) when they exist. Never invents bids. Stateless.

Input parameters:

- `class` (string): bullion = a tracked coin or bar (default when product is given); scrap = metal by weight and karat or purity.
- `karat` (number): Scrap gold karat: 24=.999, 22=.9167, 18=.75, 14=.5833, 10=.4167 (others karat/24).
- `margin_pct` (number): Margin rule: percent over melt (sell) or under melt (buy). Not combined with tier/offer_pct.
- `margin_usd` (number): Flat USD per unit over melt (sell) or deducted (buy).
- `metal` (string): Scrap metal.
- `offer_pct` (number): Your own buy offer as % of melt; overrides the tier default.
- `product` (string): Tracked product slug from list_products (for example american-silver-eagle-1oz) or a name with its weight. A name only matches a product of the same weight.
- `purity` (number): Scrap fineness as a fraction (use instead of karat; required for silver or platinum scrap).
- `quantity` (integer): Number of units (bullion) or identical scrap lots.
- `side` (string): sell = you sell to a customer; buy = you buy from a customer. Default: buy for scrap or when tier/offer_pct is given, else sell.
- `spot` (number): Optional spot price in USD per troy oz to use instead of Bullion Price Check's latest reading (gold-api.com). The answer labels it spot_source=caller.
- `spot_asof` (string): Optional ISO time of the spot you passed in, echoed back as spot_asof.
- `tier` (string): Buy offer default tier (% of melt). Buy quotes without tier, offer_pct or margins use target.
- `unit` (string): Scrap weight unit: g = gram, dwt = pennyweight, ozt = troy ounce.
- `valid_seconds` (integer): How long the quote is good for; sets expires_at.
- `weight` (number): Scrap gross weight.

### `benchmark_premium` (~240 tokens)

Premium benchmark vs the US market

Benchmark your asking price (or premium %) for one tracked product against today's listed US dealer asks: your premium over spot, the market 25th percentile, median and 75th percentile premium, your percentile rank, and the Bullion Premium Index row (CC BY 4.0) with its dealer count. Aggregates only: no dealer is named.

Input parameters:

- `payment` (string): Which market price list to compare with.
- `product` (string, required): Tracked product slug from list_products (for example american-silver-eagle-1oz) or a name with its weight. A name only matches a product of the same weight.
- `your_premium_pct` (number): Your premium over spot in percent (use instead of your_price).
- `your_price` (number): Your single-unit asking price in USD.

### `value_inventory` (~208 tokens)

Inventory valuation

Value a list of inventory lots of tracked products at melt (spot x metal content) and at today's median listed US dealer ask, with cost basis and unrealized gain against melt when you give it. Up to 50 lots. On REST pass lots as JSON or as sku:qty[:cost_basis] items joined by commas.

Input parameters:

- `lots` (array, required): Inventory lots.
- `spot_gold` (number): Optional spot price in USD per troy oz to use instead of Bullion Price Check's latest reading (gold-api.com). The answer labels it spot_source=caller.
- `spot_platinum` (number): Optional spot price in USD per troy oz to use instead of Bullion Price Check's latest reading (gold-api.com). The answer labels it spot_source=caller.
- `spot_silver` (number): Optional spot price in USD per troy oz to use instead of Bullion Price Check's latest reading (gold-api.com). The answer labels it spot_source=caller.

### `bullion_sales_tax` (~227 tokens)

State sales tax on bullion

Is a gold, silver, platinum or palladium purchase subject to state sales tax in a US state or DC? Give a 2-letter state code (or the state name) and optionally the metal, product_type (coin or bar) and the purchase amount in USD to apply the state's threshold. Returns the state's status (exempt, partial, taxable or no_sales_tax), a plain-English explanation, the threshold logic, the official source URL and the last_reviewed date, from the same table as the Bullion Price Check sales tax guide. General information, not tax advice. GET /api/v1/sales-tax lists all 51.

Input parameters:

- `amount` (number): Purchase amount in USD for the whole sale (optional). For a per-coin threshold (New Jersey) give the value of one coin.
- `metal` (string): Metal bought (optional).
- `product_type` (string): coin or bar (rounds count as bar). Optional.
- `state` (string, required): 2-letter US state code (TX, NY, DC...) or the state name.
