## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-23.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - Authorisation check failed: no authorisation is required to call this server, and it exposes a tool marked destructive (delete_image).
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 67/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 622 tokens (~155/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 17/100
  - Stability observed for 5 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 91/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 73% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - All 1 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation.
  - An AI judge read all 5 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 60/100
  - Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2025-06-18; the latest is 2026-07-28.

### Claude

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http com-basepic-basepic 'https://basepic.com/mcp'
```

### Cursor

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "com-basepic-basepic": {
      "url": "https://basepic.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### VS Code

      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}
```
### OpenClaw
The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.
## Changelog
Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.
### 2026-10-22 (score 65, +1)
No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 10 to 13. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 3 days of observed history at the previous scan, 4 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.
### 2026-10-20 (score 64, +1)
No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.
## MCP tools (4)
### `upload_image` (~172 tokens)
Upload image
Upload an image to BasePic and get links: page_url (short link to share), image_url (direct image) and download_url. Give either a public "url" (an image, or a post on X/Instagram/Facebook) or "image_base64". Returns an id for edit_image and a delete_key. Images up to 50 MB. The image is private: only people with the link can see it.
Input parameters:
- `filename` (string): Optional file name, e.g. "beach.jpg"
- `image_base64` (string): The image as base64 (a data: URL works too)
- `return_preview` (boolean): Also return a small preview of the image so you can look at it (default false)
- `url` (string): Public https link to the image
### `edit_image` (~228 tokens)
Edit image
Edit an uploaded image: rotate, flip, crop (pixels or aspect ratio), resize (width/height, percent, megapixels), grayscale (black & white), sepia, brightness, contrast, warm, cool, invert, blur, sharpen — applied in order. Optionally change the format (jpeg/png/webp) or make the file at most max_kb kilobytes. Creates a NEW image with its own page_url, image_url and download_url; the original stays unchanged.
Input parameters:
- `filename` (string)
- `format` (string)
- `id` (string, required): Image id returned by upload_image or edit_image (e.g. "vqSvesFU")
- `max_kb` (integer): Largest file size in KB (jpeg/webp)
- `operations` (array): Example: [{"op":"rotate","degrees":90},{"op":"resize","width":1080},{"op":"grayscale"}]
- `quality` (integer)
- `return_preview` (boolean): Also return a small preview of the image so you can look at it (default false)
### `get_image` (~80 tokens)
Get image
Get the links and details (size, dimensions, type) of an image on BasePic by its id.
Input parameters:
- `id` (string, required): Image id returned by upload_image or edit_image (e.g. "vqSvesFU")
- `return_preview` (boolean): Also return a small preview of the image so you can look at it (default false)
### `delete_image` (~68 tokens)
Delete image
Delete an image from BasePic. Needs the delete_key returned when it was uploaded or created by edit_image. Its links stop working.
Input parameters:
- `delete_key` (string, required)
- `id` (string, required): Image id returned by upload_image or edit_image (e.g. "vqSvesFU")
## Common questions
### What is the BasePic MCP server?
BasePic is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.basepic/basepic. Upload, edit and share images by link: free image hosting for AI agents, no API key. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://basepic.com/mcp).
### Is the BasePic MCP server safe to use?
BasePic scores 65 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.
### What tools does the BasePic MCP server expose?
BasePic exposes 4 tools: upload_image, edit_image, get_image, delete_image. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 548 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.
### Does the BasePic MCP server require authentication?
No. We connected to BasePic without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.
### Is the BasePic MCP server still maintained?
BasePic is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 23 October 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
