## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 74/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 62/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1178 tokens (~235/item across 5 items; 5 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 100/100
  - No destabilizing schema changes in the last 30 days.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 5 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 6 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## MCP tools (5)

### `cheapest_routes` (~227 tokens)

Cheapest routes

The cheapest cached fare on every route we hold from an origin (or into a destination), cheapest one-way first, each with its cheapest round trip of a 3 to 21 day stay in `return` when we hold one. Filter by a maximum price and a departure month here rather than by reading the list; both apply to the one-way. Prices are one adult, economy, as seen on the date in `seen` (or last checked on `checked` when a row has none) — observations, not quotes.

Input parameters:

- `from` (string): origin IATA airport or city code (NYC covers JFK, LGA and EWR); give from, to or both
- `limit` (integer): how many routes to return, 1 to 20; 10 when omitted
- `max_price` (number): keep only fares at or under this amount, in the currency the results carry
- `month` (string): YYYY-MM: the cheapest fare departing in that month; needs from
- `to` (string): destination IATA airport or city code

Output parameters:

- `currency` (string)
- `note` (string)
- `routes` (null|array)

### `find_airports` (~99 tokens)

Find airports

Look up airports and city codes by name, or list the airports near a code or a lat,lon point. Use it to turn a city name into the IATA code the other tools take.

Input parameters:

- `near` (string): an IATA code, or lat, lon, to list the airports near it; give this or query
- `query` (string): a city or airport name or the start of one; give this or near

Output parameters:

- `places` (null|array)

### `meet_link` (~251 tokens)

Group trip link

A link to a2bflight.com's group page for people flying from different homes to meet in one place. Use it when the user already knows where; where_to_meet when they ask where. Without dates it picks the weekend whose round trips we have seen price everyone, with each fare and the total; with dates it quotes no price, and the page shows each person's cheapest fare we have seen for them or the closest. A warning says why the fares are a poor option and what to try instead: pass it on.

Input parameters:

- `back` (string): YYYY-MM-DD: the day everyone flies home
- `members` (null|array, required): 2 to 8 people, each flying from their own home; person 1 first
- `mode` (string): cheapest_total (the default: the lowest sum), fairest (the lowest dearest ticket), least_travel (the least flying time) or earliest_together (everyone landed soonest)
- `out` (string): YYYY-MM-DD: the day they meet; leave out and back both empty for a suggested long weekend
- `to` (string, required): the IATA airport where they all meet — an airport, not a city code

Output parameters:

- `back` (string)
- `currency` (string)
- `dates` (string): asked: the user's dates; priced: the weekend of the next eight whose round trips we have seen price everyone, cheapest summed; suggested: no weekend does, so a long weekend three weeks out, whose pag…
- `fares` (null|array): on priced dates, each person's cheapest round trip, in the order of members
- `meet_url` (string): the group's page on a2bflight.com with everyone filled in — give the user this link
- `members` (null|array)
- `out` (string)
- `to` (string)
- `to_city` (string)
- `total` (number): on priced dates, the fares added up; absent when anyone is more than one adult or the currencies differ
- `warning` (string): why these fares are a poor option and what to try instead — tell the user both

### `route_fares` (~144 tokens)

Route fares

Everything we hold for one airport pair: the cheapest one-way, the cheapest round trip of a 3 to 21 day stay, the cheapest one-way by departure date and by month, and the cheapest round trips. When we hold no fare for the pair, it looks the route up at our fare source; if the fares are not back in time it answers status "pricing", and asking again a minute later reads them.

Input parameters:

- `from` (string, required): origin IATA airport code (an airport, not a city code)
- `month` (string): YYYY-MM: keep only departure dates in that month
- `to` (string, required): destination IATA airport code

Output parameters:

- `cheapest` (null|object): the cheapest one-way; absent when we hold no dated one-way
- `cheapest_return` (null|object): the cheapest round trip of a 3 to 21 day stay; absent when we hold none, and page_url then offers a live return search
- `currency` (string)
- `dates` (null|array): the cheapest one-way fares by departure date, cheapest first
- `from` (string)
- `months` (null|array): the cheapest one-way fare in each month
- `page_url` (string)
- `returns` (null|array): the cheapest round trips held, any stay, cheapest first
- `status` (string): held: fares below; pricing: the route is still being looked up, ask again in a minute; none: we hold no fare for it
- `to` (string)

### `where_to_meet` (~230 tokens)

Where to meet

Where 2 to 8 people flying from different homes can meet cheapest: the places every home has a route into, each with a weekend whose cached round trips price everyone, each person's fare, the total, and meet_url — the group's page with all of it filled in. A place with a warning is a poor option: say why, and offer the better pick it names. Prices are one adult, economy, as seen on `seen` (or last checked on `checked` when a fare has none).

Input parameters:

- `homes` (null|array, required): 2 to 8 home airports or city codes, one per person, person 1 first (NYC covers JFK, LGA and EWR)
- `limit` (integer): how many places to return, 1 to 8; 5 when omitted
- `month` (string): YYYY-MM: meet on a weekend in that month; the next eight weekends from two weeks out when omitted
- `nights` (integer): nights they stay, 1 to 14; 3 (Friday to Monday) when omitted

Output parameters:

- `note` (string)
- `places` (null|array)

## Common questions

### What is the a2bflight fares MCP server?

a2bflight fares is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as com.a2bflight/fares. Flight fares seen on thousands of routes, each dated, and where a group can meet. Not live. No key. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://mcp.a2bflight.com/mcp).

### Is the a2bflight fares MCP server safe to use?

a2bflight fares scores 83 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the a2bflight fares MCP server expose?

a2bflight fares exposes 5 tools: cheapest_routes, find_airports, meet_link, route_fares, where_to_meet. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 951 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the a2bflight fares MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to a2bflight fares without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the a2bflight fares MCP server still maintained?
