## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 82/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 843 tokens (~168/item across 5 items; 4 tools + 1 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 0/100
  - Stability check failed: schema churn in the 8 days we've observed: 1 tool removals, 0 breaking changes, 0 auth/transport breaks, 2 additions.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 6 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

## MCP tools (4)

### `find_song_key_and_tempo` (~113 tokens)

Find a song’s key and tempo

Find the musical key (major or minor, with its relative key) and the tempo in BPM of a song file the person has. Opens a small Tera Studio tool where they choose the file; it is analysed in their browser and never uploaded. Use it when someone asks what key or BPM a song is in, or wants to know before singing, mixing or practising it. It reads only the file and doesn't identify or play songs; find_song_key looks up a well-known song by its title.

Output parameters:

- `audio` (string)
- `semitones`
- `start_song` (string)
- `view` (string)
- `web_tool` (string)

### `shift_song_key` (~139 tokens)

Change a song’s key

Move a song the person has up or down by up to 6 semitones, keeping its speed, so it fits their voice, and play it back. Opens a small Tera Studio tool where they choose the file; the change happens in their browser and nothing is uploaded. Use it when a song is too high or too low for someone. Pass semitones if they said how far (negative is lower); otherwise they choose in the tool.

Input parameters:

- `semitones` (integer): How far to move the song, from -6 to 6 semitones; negative is lower. Leave it out to let the person choose.

Output parameters:

- `audio` (string)
- `semitones`
- `start_song` (string)
- `view` (string)
- `web_tool` (string)

### `get_own_voice_song_instructions` (~194 tokens)

Get own-voice song instructions

Explain how to hear a song sung in the person's own voice with Tera Studio, and give them the link to start. They create an account on terastudio.co, sing for about a minute, add a song they have the rights to use, and hear it back in their voice. Use it when someone wants to hear themselves sing a song, make a cover in their own voice, or turn a song into a gift in their voice. It returns steps and a link and creates nothing. Tera Studio only uses the person's own voice: not for celebrity or other people's voices.

Input parameters:

- `language` (string): The language the song is sung in, if they said.
- `occasion` (string): What it's for, if they said: a birthday, a wedding, a gift.
- `song_title` (string): The song they want to hear in their voice, if they named one.

Output parameters:

- `consent` (string)
- `start_song` (string)
- `steps` (array)

### `find_song_key` (~228 tokens)

Look up a song’s key by title

Look up the key, tempo (BPM) and typical vocal range of a well-known song by its title, in Tera Studio's song list (key and tempo from AcousticBrainz's analyses of the recording). Returns the key with its relative key, how many analyses agree on it, the BPM when they agree, an estimated range, and links to the song's page and to the key changer. Use it when someone names a song and asks its key or tempo, or whether it suits their voice. Pass semitones if they want it higher or lower. A song outside the list comes back as not found, with the key finder and key changer for a file they have.

Input parameters:

- `artist` (string): Who sings it, if the person said; it picks between songs that share a title.
- `semitones` (integer): How far to move the song for their voice, from -6 to 6 semitones; negative is lower. Leave it out to keep the original key.
- `title` (string, required): The song's title, without the artist.

Output parameters:

- `found` (boolean)
- `key_changer` (string)
- `key_finder` (string)
- `other_matches` (array)
- `shifted`
- `song`
- `song_page`

## Common questions

### What is the Tera Studio MCP server?

Tera Studio is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as co.terastudio/tera-studio. Find a song's key and tempo, shift it to suit your voice, then hear songs sung in your own voice. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://terastudio.co/mcp).

### Is the Tera Studio MCP server safe to use?

Tera Studio scores 75 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Tera Studio MCP server expose?

Tera Studio exposes 4 tools: find_song_key_and_tempo, shift_song_key, get_own_voice_song_instructions, find_song_key. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 674 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Does the Tera Studio MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to Tera Studio without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.

### Is the Tera Studio MCP server still maintained?

Tera Studio is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
