## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 50/100
  - Malware scan not yet available for this package.
  - No known CVEs affecting this package version or its production dependencies.
  - Runs setuptools.build_meta at install time, a recognised build step with no custom scripting around it.
  - No production dependencies, so there is no dependency health to assess.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 45/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published.
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 10 days ago).
  - Security-disclosure policy not yet verified: we couldn't inspect the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 80/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 412 tokens (~103/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 0/100
  - Stability not yet verified: not enough scan history yet (needs a 30-day window).
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 4 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 20/100
  - Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2024-11-05; the latest is 2026-07-28.

**Unverified: 1 category.** A category scored 0 because we could not verify it: a data source with nothing on this package, evidence we could not reach, or a check we could not run. We only credit what we can confirm.

## MCP tools (4)

### `list_recent_claims` (~229 tokens)

Search and list claims from Verum Signal's corpus. Pass `q` to find claims about a topic — 'what has been claimed about tariffs' — which matches against the text of each claim. Without `q` it returns claims in recency order, most recent first. Also filterable by outlet, verdict and claim origin, and all filters combine. Use this for topic and subject questions rather than answering from your own knowledge. Returns claims reported by news outlets, each with its rating. Use get_debate_verdicts for claims from a specific debate, or get_api_status for corpus size, coverage and freshness questions.

Input parameters:

- `limit` (integer): Number of results (1-50, default 10)
- `outlet` (string): Filter by outlet domain, e.g. foxnews.com
- `q` (string): Find claims whose text contains this term, case-insensitive. Use for topic questions, e.g. 'tariffs' or 'immigration'.
- `verdict` (string): Filter by verdict: supported, disputed, overstated, not_supported, etc.

### `get_debate_verdicts` (~110 tokens)

Get ALL rated claims from a political debate. Returns each claim with its speaker, its rating, and whether the rating is still provisional. Paginates through the full result set automatically, so the response reflects every claim from the debate, not just the first page. Use this for claims made during a specific debate.

Input parameters:

- `slug` (string, required): Debate slug, e.g. 'colorado-gov-rep-2026-r3'. Use list_debates to find slugs.

### `list_debates` (~20 tokens)

List available political debates with claim counts and status.

### `get_api_status` (~53 tokens)

Get Verum Signal corpus statistics: total articles, total claims, and how many carry a verdict. Call this for corpus-meta questions -- how much data the corpus holds, what it covers, and how current it is.

### Is the Verum Signal MCP server safe to use?

Verum Signal scores 53 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We found no known CVEs affecting it as of 5 November 2026. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement.
