## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS enforcement could not be verified: the plaintext port answered with HTTP 405, which proves neither a plaintext path nor enforcement.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 77/100
  - 100% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 458 tokens (~152/item across 3 items; 2 tools + 1 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 7/100
  - Stability observed for 2 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 95/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 81% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 2 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 3 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 47/100
  - Spec-recency check failed: implements MCP spec 2024-11-05; the latest is 2026-07-28.
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

## Install

### How do I install the Flathive MCP server?

Flathive is a hosted endpoint at https://flathive.com.au/api/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http au-com-flathive-rental-search 'https://flathive.com.au/api/mcp'
```

    "au-com-flathive-rental-search": {
      "type": "http",

  }
}
```
The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.
## Changelog
Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.
### 2026-11-05 (score 66, +1)
No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.
### 2026-11-04 (score 65, 0)
- [functional improvement] Stability: unverified → 0.03
### 2026-11-03 (score 65)
## MCP tools (2)
### `search_properties` (~299 tokens)
Search published Flathive room/property listings by location and filters. country_type is required — ask the user which country they're searching in, or infer it from a suburb/city they name, before calling this tool. Each result includes an approximate lat/lng for map display — it is deliberately jittered (~100m) for landlord privacy, never the exact address, so don't present it as the precise location; the exact address is only shared with the landlord's consent after contact.
Input parameters:
- `accommodation_types` (array)
- `available_date` (string): Desired move-in date, YYYY-MM-DD.
- `bed_rooms` (integer): Minimum bedrooms.
- `country_type` (string, required): Which Flathive country site to search. Required.
- `keywords` (array)
- `limit` (integer): Max results to return (default 10, hard-capped at 20).
- `max_rent` (integer): Maximum weekly rent.
- `max_stay` (integer): Maximum stay length in weeks.
- `min_rent` (integer): Minimum weekly rent.
- `min_stay` (integer): Minimum stay length in weeks.
- `post_codes` (array)
- `region` (string): Region (NZ) or broader area.
- `state` (string): State/territory (AU).
- `suburb` (string): Suburb, locality, or city name, e.g. "Parnell" or "Auckland".
Output parameters:
- `count` (integer)
- `listings` (array)
### `get_property_details` (~140 tokens)
Get a summary of one Flathive property listing by its public easyId (starts with "P") — bio, features, tags, and photo URLs for the model to describe. Deliberately no interactive widget: always surface the returned url and tell the user to open it on Flathive to see the full photo gallery, exact location, and to message/contact the advertiser — none of that is possible through this tool.
Input parameters:
- `country_type` (string, required): Country the listing belongs to. Required — used to build the correct public URL.
- `easy_id` (string, required): The listing's public easyId, e.g. "P000204".
Output parameters:
- `accommodation_type` (string|null)
- `available_from` (string|null)
- `bathrooms` (integer|null)
- `bedrooms` (integer|null)
- `bills_included` (boolean|null)
- `bio` (string|null)
- `city` (string|null)
- `easy_id` (string)
- `features` (array|null)
- `furnished` (boolean|null)
- `lat` (number|null): Approximate, jittered for privacy.
- `lng` (number|null): Approximate, jittered for privacy.
- `name` (string|null)
- `own_bathroom` (boolean|null)
- `photo_urls` (array|null)
- `post_code` (string|null)
- `rent_max` (integer|null)
- `rent_min` (integer|null)
- `rent_range` (string|null)
- `state` (string|null)
- `stay_range` (string|null)
- `suburb` (string|null)
- `tags` (array|null)
- `url` (string): Public listing URL.
No. We connected to Flathive without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.
### Is the Flathive MCP server still maintained?
Flathive is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
