## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 81/100
  - No malware found by supply-chain analysis.
  - CVE check failed: a known high-severity CVE affects @modelcontextprotocol/sdk 1.30.0, a direct dependency. A fixed version is available.
  - No install/post-install scripts declared.
  - 30 of 92 dependencies flagged as unhealthy.
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 45/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published.
  - Clear OSI-approved license (MIT).
  - Actively maintained (last published 12 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 79/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Tool/resource definitions use about 715 tokens (~89/item across 8 items; 8 tools + 0 resources), lean.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 0/100
  - Stability not yet verified: not enough scan history yet (needs a 30-day window).
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 8 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 8 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

**Unverified: 1 category.** A category scored 0 because we could not verify it: a data source with nothing on this package, evidence we could not reach, or a check we could not run. We only credit what we can confirm.

## MCP tools (8)

### `somiya_whoami` (~49 tokens)

What this connection may read: the token's label, its scopes, the caller's role in the family, and when the token expires. Useful when an answer came back narrower than expected.

### `somiya_get_family` (~33 tokens)

The family roster — member names and their roles — so people can be referred to by name rather than by id.

### `somiya_whats_next` (~61 tokens)

What is coming up for this family over the next week: upcoming calendar events and tasks that are due or overdue. The best first call for any 'what's on', 'what's next' or 'anything I'm forgetting' question. Read-only.

### `somiya_search_events` (~96 tokens)

Calendar events between two timestamps, expanded from any recurrence. Read-only: creating or changing an event happens in the Somiya app.

Input parameters:

- `from` (string, required): ISO 8601 timestamp, e.g. 2026-08-20T00:00:00Z
- `to` (string, required): ISO 8601 timestamp, e.g. 2026-08-20T00:00:00Z

### `somiya_list_tasks` (~56 tokens)

Open family tasks with their due dates and assignees. Another member's private tasks are never included. Read-only: ticking a task off happens in the Somiya app. To add one, use somiya_suggest_task.

### `somiya_list_shopping` (~48 tokens)

The family's shopping lists and the items on them. Read-only: checking an item off happens in the Somiya app. To add one, use somiya_suggest_shopping_item.

### `somiya_suggest_task` (~195 tokens)

Suggest a new family task. This does NOT create the task: it puts a one-line draft in the Somiya app for the user to confirm or dismiss, and nothing appears on the family's list until they do. Say so when reporting back — 'I've suggested it, confirm it in Somiya' — never 'I've added it'. Unconfirmed suggestions are dropped after a day.

Input parameters:

- `due_at` (string): Optional deadline, ISO 8601. Give a real clock time when the user said one; otherwise pass midnight and set is_all_day.
- `due_timezone` (string): IANA zone for due_at, e.g. Europe/Berlin. Family members travel.
- `is_all_day` (boolean): True when the deadline is a day, not a time.
- `notes` (string): Optional detail.
- `title` (string, required): What needs doing, in the user's own words. Required.

### `somiya_suggest_shopping_item` (~177 tokens)

Suggest an item for a family shopping list — the natural tool for 'add X to the shopping list'. This does NOT add it: it puts a draft in the Somiya app for the user to confirm, and the item reaches the shared list only after they tap confirm. Report it as suggested, not as done. Unconfirmed suggestions are dropped after a day.

Input parameters:

- `category` (string): Optional grouping, e.g. 'dairy'.
- `list_id` (string): Which list, from somiya_list_shopping. Omit to use the family's first list.
- `name` (string, required): The item, e.g. 'olive oil'. Required.
- `notes` (string): Optional detail, e.g. a brand.
- `quantity` (string): Free text, e.g. '2 bottles'.

## Common questions

### What is the Somiya MCP server?

Somiya is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as app.somiya/mcp. Your family's Somiya calendar, tasks and lists. Reads; any change waits for you to confirm. This page covers its npm package (somiya-mcp).

### Is the Somiya MCP server safe to use?

Somiya scores 66 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. We recorded 6 known advisories against it as of 5 November 2026. It declares no install or post-install scripts. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the Somiya MCP server expose?

Somiya exposes 8 tools: somiya_whoami, somiya_get_family, somiya_whats_next, somiya_search_events, somiya_list_tasks, and 3 more. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 715 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.

### Is the Somiya MCP server still maintained?

Somiya is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.

### What licence is the Somiya MCP server under?

Somiya declares the MIT licence, which is OSI-approved. That covers the source only, and says nothing about the cost of any service it calls.
