## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 63/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS enforcement could not be verified: the plaintext port answered with HTTP 405, which proves neither a plaintext path nor enforcement.
  - HSTS check failed: the Strict-Transport-Security header is absent.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 59/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (excellent).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1355 tokens (~451/item across 3 items; 3 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 7/100
  - Stability observed for 2 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (100% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 3 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 4 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a current MCP spec version (2026-07-28).

## Install

### How do I install the localhum MCP server?

localhum is a hosted endpoint at https://localhum.app/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http app-localhum-localhum 'https://localhum.app/mcp'
```

### Cursor

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "app-localhum-localhum": {
      "url": "https://localhum.app/mcp"
The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.
## Changelog
Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.
### 2026-11-05 (score 65, +1)
No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.
What's on
Find what's on at San Diego's bars, breweries, clubs, cafes, galleries and small venues from a question in plain words. Use it for questions about events or things to do in San Diego: live music, a band or DJ, trivia, karaoke, comedy, open mics, drag, dance nights, run clubs, markets, classes, happy hours and deals, on a day or in a neighbourhood.
Pass the question the way the person said it, place and time included: "live jazz in North Park tonight", "free things to do this weekend", "happy hour near Ocean Beach on Friday", "anything at the Casbah this week". Place, time, the kinds of thing wanted, what to leave out ("not happy hours"), free and for kids are all read from the words, so keep them in and don't rewrite them into keyword lists. A short list works ("comedy or open mic"); for several different wishes, ask once for each. With no place it searches all of Greater San Diego; with no time, the next seven days. It covers San Diego County only (localhum_areas lists every neighbourhood and city); for anywhere else it says so and lists nothing.
Returns listings with the day, time, venue, neighbourhood, price when the venue gave one, and a link to each. Several pages of results come with next_offset. Each listing comes with its localhum link; localhum's terms allow personal, non-commercial use with that link (localhum.app/terms#use).
Input parameters:
- `area` (string): Optional. A neighbourhood or region to search when the question names no place: a name ("Ocean Beach", "OB") or an area value from localhum_areas ("san-diego/ocean-beach", "greater-san-diego").
- `day` (string): Optional. The days to search when the question names no time: today, tonight, tomorrow, this_weekend, this_week, next_weekend, next_week, monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday, saturday, sunda…
- `exclude` (array): Optional. Kinds to leave out, from the same list ("happy-hour" leaves out happy hours and deals).
- `for_kids` (boolean): Optional. true: only things for children or families.
- `free` (boolean): Optional. true: only things that are free.
- `kinds` (array): Optional. The kinds of thing wanted, when you know them; used as given instead of reading them from the question. One or more of: live-music (Live music), open-mic (Jam & open mic), dj (DJ & dance ni…
- `limit` (integer): Listings to return, 1 to 50.
- `offset` (integer): Listings to skip, for the next page: the next_offset of the previous answer.
- `question` (string, required): The question in plain words, with its place and time: "trivia tonight in Hillcrest", "what's on in OB this weekend", "comedy next Friday".
- `response_format` (string): concise: one line a listing with its link. detailed: adds the address, the full description, ticket links and start and end times.
Output parameters:
- `sections` (array)
### `localhum_venue` (~180 tokens)
One venue
Look up one venue by name ("Winstons", "The Casbah", "Pure Project North Park") or its localhum address: where it is, its own website and Instagram, its regular weekly nights and deals, and what it has booked in the coming days. When several venues fit the name, returns them to choose from. Its pages are for personal, non-commercial use with their localhum links (localhum.app/terms#use).
Input parameters:
- `days` (integer): How many days ahead to list booked things, 1 to 60.
- `name` (string, required): The venue's name, as people say it, or its localhum.app address.
- `response_format` (string): concise: one line a listing with its link. detailed: adds the address, the full description, ticket links and start and end times.
Output parameters:
- `choices` (array)
- `found` (boolean)
- `regulars` (array)
- `upcoming` (array)
- `venue` (object)
### `localhum_areas` (~72 tokens)
Areas covered
List the regions and neighbourhoods localhum covers, with what each is also called and how many things are on there in the next seven days. Use it to check coverage, or to find an area value for localhum_whats_on. Personal, non-commercial use (localhum.app/terms#use).
Output parameters:
- `regions` (array)
### What tools does the localhum MCP server expose?
localhum exposes 3 tools: localhum_whats_on, localhum_venue, localhum_areas. Their descriptions and schemas cost roughly 1,238 tokens of context every time the server is loaded.
### Does the localhum MCP server require authentication?
No. We connected to localhum without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.
### Is the localhum MCP server still maintained?
localhum is still listed as active in the MCP registry. We last reached this channel on 5 November 2026. Those dates come from our own scans of the registry and the channel itself, not from anything the publisher announced.
