## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 64/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 900 tokens (~225/item across 4 items; 4 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 10/100
  - Stability observed for 3 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 100/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 100% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 4 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 5 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

## Install

### How do I install the HomeShared MCP server?

HomeShared is a hosted endpoint at https://homeshared.app/mcp, so there is nothing to install locally. Ready-made configuration for Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Codex and 5 more is on this page, copied from each client's own documentation.

claude mcp add --transport http app-homeshared-homeshared 'https://homeshared.app/mcp'
```
### Cursor
```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "app-homeshared-homeshared": {
      "url": "https://homeshared.app/mcp"

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## Changelog

Every change recorded for this component, newest first. Days that predate change tracking, or that we cannot explain, say so: "we were watching and nothing happened" and "we were not watching" are different claims.

### 2026-11-04 (score 73, +1)

No change was recorded against any check on this day. Stability & Change Management went from 3 to 7. That category is still filling its 30-day observation window: 1 days of observed history at the previous scan, 2 at this one. The score rises as the window fills, whether or not the server changes.

### 2026-11-03 (score 72, 0)

## MCP tools (4)

### `find_cheaper` (~331 tokens)

Find a cheaper stay

Given an Airbnb listing URL and trip dates, finds the same home bookable somewhere else (on HomeShared, where guests pay no service fee, or on a host's own booking site) and returns each match with its all-in total including fees and taxes, how confident the match is, a link, and when the price was checked, plus the savings against the Airbnb total for the same nights when that total is known (airbnb_total, or Airbnb's own prices for homes that copy them). Reads only that one public Airbnb listing page; it doesn't search Airbnb. If the home isn't listed anywhere else it returns no offers and says so.

Input parameters:

- `adults` (integer, required): Guests aged 13 or older
- `airbnb_total` (number): Optional: the total in USD that Airbnb shows at checkout for these dates and guests. Savings are measured against it when given. Without it, savings are reported only for homes whose prices are copie…
- `airbnb_url` (string, required): The Airbnb listing link, e.g. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12345678
- `check_in` (string, required): Check-in date, YYYY-MM-DD
- `check_out` (string, required): Check-out date (the morning the traveler leaves), YYYY-MM-DD
- `children` (integer): Guests aged 2-12. Default 0
- `infants` (integer): Guests under 2; they don't count toward capacity. Default 0
- `pets` (integer): Pets (service animals don't count). Default 0

### `search_stays` (~252 tokens)

Search stays

Searches vacation rentals that are free for the given dates in a place and returns homes with their all-in totals (fees and taxes included), cheapest first, with links and offer_ids for get_quote. For trips without a specific listing in mind.

Input parameters:

- `adults` (integer, required): Guests aged 13 or older
- `check_in` (string, required): Check-in date, YYYY-MM-DD
- `check_out` (string, required): Check-out date (the morning the traveler leaves), YYYY-MM-DD
- `children` (integer): Guests aged 2-12. Default 0
- `infants` (integer): Guests under 2; they don't count toward capacity. Default 0
- `limit` (integer): How many results to return, 1-20. Default 10
- `location` (string, required): Where to stay: a city, region or neighborhood, e.g. "Lisbon" or "Joshua Tree, California"
- `max_total` (number): Only stays whose all-in total (USD) is at most this
- `min_bedrooms` (integer): Only homes with at least this many bedrooms
- `pets` (integer): Pets (service animals don't count). Default 0

### `get_quote` (~180 tokens)

Get a quote

Gets a fresh, itemized all-in price and availability for one offer_id (from find_cheaper or search_stays) for specific dates and guests. Returns a quote_id that book needs; it stays valid for 15 minutes.

Input parameters:

- `adults` (integer, required): Guests aged 13 or older
- `check_in` (string, required): Check-in date, YYYY-MM-DD
- `check_out` (string, required): Check-out date (the morning the traveler leaves), YYYY-MM-DD
- `children` (integer): Guests aged 2-12. Default 0
- `infants` (integer): Guests under 2; they don't count toward capacity. Default 0
- `offer_id` (string, required): The offer_id from a find_cheaper or search_stays result
- `pets` (integer): Pets (service animals don't count). Default 0

### `book` (~89 tokens)

Get a checkout link

Checks a quote_id is still available and returns a checkout_url for the traveler to open. The traveler signs in, reviews the price, house rules and cancellation policy, and pays there; this tool reserves nothing and charges nothing by itself. It accepts no card or payment details: a request containing them is refused.

Input parameters:

- `quote_id` (string, required): The quote_id from get_quote. Quotes last 15 minutes
