## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically against the live server, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-11-05.

- **Endpoint Security**: 80/100
  - The endpoint's TLS certificate is valid, in date, and uses a strong key.
  - No authorisation is required to call this server. Every tool declares its destructiveHint and none is destructive, so open access doesn't expose one.
  - HTTPS is enforced; there's no plaintext access path.
  - The HSTS (Strict-Transport-Security) header is present.
  - DNSSEC check failed: this domain isn't protected by DNSSEC.
- **Transport & Reachability**: 100/100
  - Verified streamable-http transport via a live MCP handshake.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 71/100
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 1031 tokens (~128/item across 8 items; 8 tools + 0 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 97/100
  - Stability observed for 29 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 88/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 63% of tool parameters carry a description.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - We read all 8 captured tool definition(s), and no name or description among them implies an irreversible operation.
  - An AI judge read all 9 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.

The mcpServers block is a cross-client convention. Remote transports vary, so check your client's docs.

## MCP tools (8)

### `search_tutors` (~232 tokens)

Search tutors

Find independent tutors on TutorPing by subject, student level, and location. Returns tutors with a public page (subject, level, location, rate, reviews, page link, whether they can be booked directly), how many matching tutors TutorPing has in total with their profiles minus names (request_tutor matches the student with one, optionally a chosen tutorRef), and free TutorPing AI Tutors for the subject (clearly AI, not people; a chat link for help right now). Use for students or parents looking for a tutor (SAT/ACT, math, science, languages, music, and more). If no listed tutor fits, use request_tutor and TutorPing will match one. Always tell the user that an AI tutor is AI.

Input parameters:

- `level` (string): e.g. "high school", "college"
- `location` (string): City or area, e.g. "NYC". Omit for online tutors anywhere.
- `maxHourlyRate` (number): USD per hour
- `subject` (string): e.g. "SAT", "chemistry", "piano"

### `request_tutor` (~299 tokens)

Ask TutorPing to find a tutor

Submit a request for TutorPing to match a student with a tutor, when search_tutors finds no fit or the user prefers to be matched. TutorPing replies by email within 1 business day with tutor options. Collect what the student needs, then confirm the details AND get the user's explicit agreement that TutorPing may share the request and contact details with matching tutors before calling. Ask only for a first name, never a child's full name.

Input parameters:

- `budgetPerHour` (number): USD per hour
- `consent` (boolean, required): The user agreed TutorPing may share this request and contact details with matching tutors
- `email` (string, required): Where TutorPing should send tutor options
- `level` (string): e.g. "11th grade", "college", "adult beginner"
- `location` (string): City or area for in-person; omit if online only
- `notes` (string): Goals, current scores, anything a tutor should know
- `online` (boolean): true if online sessions are fine
- `phone` (string)
- `schedule` (string): e.g. "weekday evenings, test on Dec 6"
- `studentFirstName` (string)
- `subject` (string, required): e.g. "SAT math", "AP Chemistry", "piano"
- `tutorRef` (string): tutorRef of a profile from search_tutors the user liked; TutorPing asks that tutor first

### `get_tutor` (~33 tokens)

Get tutor profile

Full public profile for one TutorPing tutor (by slug from search_tutors).

Input parameters:

- `slug` (string, required)

### `get_tutor_availability` (~43 tokens)

Get a tutor's open slots

Open session times for a tutor, in the tutor's timezone. Use before request_booking.

Input parameters:

- `days` (integer)
- `slug` (string, required)

### `request_booking` (~134 tokens)

Book a session with a tutor

Book a student into one of a tutor's open slots (from get_tutor_availability). The tutor and the student both get a confirmation email. Confirm the time, name, and email with the user before calling.

Input parameters:

- `date` (string, required): YYYY-MM-DD
- `slug` (string, required)
- `studentEmail` (string, required)
- `studentName` (string, required)
- `subject` (string)
- `time` (string, required): HH:MM, 24h, tutor's timezone — must match an open slot
- `type` (string): "trial" only if the tutor offers a free trial

### `tutoring_demand` (~84 tokens)

Tutoring demand

How many people online recently asked for a tutor in a subject (from Reddit and other communities TutorPing monitors), in total. Useful for tutors deciding whether there is demand for their subject. The requests themselves are only shared with TutorPing tutors.

Input parameters:

- `days` (integer)
- `subject` (string, required): e.g. "SAT", "organic chemistry", "piano"

### `ask_tutorping` (~74 tokens)

Ask TutorPing a question

Ask anything about TutorPing, finding a tutor, or finding tutoring students that the other tools don't cover, in plain words. Returns which TutorPing tool or page fits, plus contact details. Do not include personal information.

Input parameters:

- `askedFor` (string): Who the question is for
- `question` (string, required)

### `how_to_get_leads` (~29 tokens)

How TutorPing works for tutors

Explains how a tutor gets student leads from TutorPing and connects their own AI assistant.

## Common questions

### What is the TutorPing MCP server?

TutorPing is an MCP server listed in the public MCP registry as ai.tutorping/tutorping. Find and book independent tutors, or find students asking for a tutor in your subject. This page covers its hosted endpoint (https://tutorping.ai/mcp).

### Is the TutorPing MCP server safe to use?

TutorPing scores 85 out of 100 on VerifyMCP. That is a record of what we were able to check automatically, not an endorsement. The category breakdown on this page shows every signal behind the number, including the ones we could not confirm.

### What tools does the TutorPing MCP server expose?

### Does the TutorPing MCP server require authentication?

No. We connected to TutorPing without credentials and it answered, so anything it exposes is reachable by anyone who knows the address.
