## Trust breakdown

How this component scores in each security and reliability category. Every signal is checked automatically from public evidence about the published package, including repeated runs of it in an isolated sandbox, and we only credit what we can confirm. Scores are 0–100 per category. Scoring method: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring (what has changed: https://verifymcp.io/docs/scoring/changelog)

Scored 2026-10-17.

- **Supply Chain Security**: 0/100
  - No malware scan is available for this kind of package: the supply-chain vendors we use do not cover it. This is a permanent gap in our coverage, not a finding about the package.
  - Known CVEs could not be checked: we found no dependency list to check in this bundle: either it runs a compiled binary, whose bundled manifests we do not read, or none of the package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml or uv.lock files it ships for its runtime declares a dependency we can read (a requirements.txt that only points at a setup.py project, a local path, or a nested requirements file we cannot follow counts as none).
  - Install-script risk not yet assessed.
  - Dependency health could not be checked: we found no dependency list to check in this bundle: either it runs a compiled binary, whose bundled manifests we do not read, or none of the package.json, requirements.txt, pyproject.toml or uv.lock files it ships for its runtime declares a dependency we can read (a requirements.txt that only points at a setup.py project, a local path, or a nested requirements file we cannot follow counts as none).
- **Provenance & Transparency**: 32/100
  - Source repository is publicly reachable at the declared URL.
  - Provenance check failed: no build-provenance attestation is published.
  - License check failed: the license (Proprietary (see LICENSE)) isn't a recognized OSI-approved license.
  - Actively maintained (last published 1 days ago).
  - Disclosure check failed: no security disclosure policy was found in the source repository.
- **Schema Quality & AI Usability**: 44/100
  - 11% of prompts and resources have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the item's name).
  - AI-judged instruction clarity (good).
  - Context-footprint check failed: tool/resource definitions use about 4803 tokens (~137/item across 35 items; 33 tools + 2 resources), over budget; trim descriptions and params.
  - Usage-examples check failed: none of the tools include examples.
- **Stability & Change Management**: 73/100
  - Stability observed for 22 of 30 days with no destabilising changes; credit accrues until the full window elapses.
- **Tool Coverage**: 94/100
  - 100% of tools have a non-trivial description (not blank, and not just the tool's name).
  - 78% of tool parameters carry a description.
  - Structured output schemas are declared (45% of tools); any adoption earns full credit.
- **Tool Safety**: 100/100
  - No prompt-injection markers were found in the server instructions, tool names or descriptions we captured.
  - All 3 tool(s) whose name or description implies an irreversible operation declare an MCP destructiveHint annotation.
  - An AI judge read all 35 captured unit(s) of tool text and found none that tries to manipulate the model reading it.
- **Capabilities**: 100/100
  - Implements a supported MCP spec version (2025-11-25); the latest is 2026-07-28.
  - Supports UI / widget rendering.

**Unverified: 1 category.** A category scored 0 because we could not verify it: a data source with nothing on this package, evidence we could not reach, or a check we could not run. We only credit what we can confirm.

## Install

### How do I install the mailmcp MCP server?

mailmcp ships as an MCPB bundle, a single file you download and open in an MCP host that supports MCPB bundles, such as Claude Desktop. The host reads the launch command from the bundle's own manifest, so there is no command to copy. Before opening it, check the file's SHA-256 matches the one the MCP registry declares for it, 3779e8e34b137b1aa50f3284ec78710e9ad56bb8c0faa8dcf2eb0d8b277d84bf; the commands to do that are on this page. If it does not match, do not open it.

```
### Verify on Windows (PowerShell)
```powershell

## MCP tools (33)

### `list_accounts` (~96 tokens)

List mail accounts

Lists the mailboxes: ids, addresses and permitted operations. `backend` "graph" is Outlook (string ids; labels are categories); `reauth_by`: when the owner must sign in to Microsoft again (setup page); `plan`: the mailmcp plan and, near expiry, how to renew. `protection`: verification emails hidden from you.

Input parameters:

- `check_connection` (boolean): Also test every login (slower)

Output parameters:

- `accounts` (array)

### `list_folders` (~61 tokens)

List folders / labels

Lists folders (Gmail: labels) with message and unseen counts. On Outlook `path` is an opaque id and `name` the hierarchy ("Projects/2026"); tools accept either as a folder.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id

Output parameters:

- `account` (string)
- `folders` (array)

### `search_messages` (~230 tokens)

Search messages

Searches one account, or all with account="all". Gmail: `query` takes Gmail syntax (from:, newer_than:7d, has:attachment, label:); elsewhere full text plus the filters. Newest first, with uid + folder and header hints. Outlook: `total` counts returned results only; `from` is exact.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): "all", or a list_accounts id
- `before` (string): ISO date
- `flagged` (boolean): Only starred/flagged
- `folder` (string): Default: Gmail All Mail, else INBOX
- `from` (string)
- `has_attachment` (boolean)
- `limit` (integer): Default 20, max 50
- `offset` (integer): Hits to skip (keep small)
- `query` (string): Gmail syntax on Gmail, else plain text
- `since` (string): ISO date, e.g. 2026-09-01
- `subject` (string)
- `to` (string)
- `unseen` (boolean): Only unread

Output parameters:

- `count` (number)
- `messages` (array)

### `get_message` (~90 tokens)

Read a message

Returns headers, sanitized text body and the attachment list of one message. Body is truncated to the configured limit.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `folder` (string): Default: Gmail All Mail, else INBOX
- `include_quoted` (boolean): Keep quoted replies (default false)
- `max_chars` (integer)
- `uid` (string, required): uid from search_messages

Output parameters:

- `folder` (string)
- `text` (string)
- `uid` (string|number)

### `get_thread` (~134 tokens)

Get conversation thread

Lists the conversation of a message across folders (Gmail: All Mail; other IMAP: the folder, INBOX, Sent, Archive; Outlook: whole mailbox), oldest first. `coverage` says what was searched and if it was complete. A thread groups by conversation; it does not prove who replied to whom.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `folder` (string): Default: Gmail All Mail, else INBOX
- `include_bodies` (boolean): Text of the newest 20 (no quotes, 60,000 chars)
- `uid` (string, required): uid from search_messages

Output parameters:

- `coverage` (object)
- `kind` (string)
- `messages` (array)

### `get_attachment` (~163 tokens)

Get attachment

Downloads one attachment (max 2097152 bytes into the conversation; with save_to up to 26214400 bytes to disk). Text-like types and PDFs with a text layer are returned as text, others as embedded binary. Pass save_to with a directory inside policy.attachment_dirs to write the file to disk instead; the result names the path.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `folder` (string): Default: Gmail All Mail, else INBOX
- `inline` (boolean): Embed the bytes instead of a link
- `part` (string, required): part id from get_message
- `save_to` (string): stdio: folder in policy.attachment_dirs; returns the path
- `uid` (string, required): uid from search_messages

### `create_draft` (~213 tokens)

Create draft

Saves a draft in the account's Drafts folder. Nothing is sent; the owner reviews and sends it (or asks you to send_draft). Attachments: mailbox attachments, files from upload_attachment/request_upload, or inline content. The preferred way to prepare replies.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `attachments` (array)

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id

### `set_signature` (~97 tokens)

Set the mailbox signature

Stores the signature (HTML and/or text) as a message in the folder "mailmcp-signature". With a photo or logo the owner instead mails one to themselves and moves it there. Needs the mailbox signature enabled on the setup page and the draft capability.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `html` (string): HTML (scripts stripped)
- `text` (string): Plain text; default: derived from html

### `reply_draft` (~221 tokens)

Reply as a draft

Saves a reply to a message into Drafts, in the same thread: threading headers, "Re:" subject, recipients (sender, or all with reply_all) and the quoted original are set by the server. Use whenever the owner says "reply / write a draft" ("odpověz", "napiš koncept"). Nothing is sent.

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id

### `reply_send` (~192 tokens)

Reply and send

Sends a reply to a message in the same thread (threading headers, "Re:" subject, recipients and the quoted original are set by the server). Only when the owner enabled sending AND every recipient matches send_allowlist; otherwise use reply_draft. Only when the owner says "send" ("pošli", "odešli").

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `attachments` (array)
- `folder` (string): Default: Gmail All Mail, else INBOX

- `attachments` (array)
- `bcc` (array)
- `cc` (array)
- `html` (string): Optional HTML (scripts stripped)

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
- `expect_fingerprint` (string): From the draft result; refused if the draft changed
- `folder` (string): Drafts folder if not the default
- `uid` (string, required): Draft uid (create_draft, or a search in Drafts)

### `forward_message` (~165 tokens)

Input parameters:

- `account` (string, required): list_accounts id
